Quick tolerance question

Last night I consumed 2.45 grams of 18 month old capsuled shrooms. They had lost all potency and had zero effect.
I have some un-capsuled shrooms also lying around, dry, no mould.
My question is that - can I assume my tolerance is still zero as the mushrooms had no effect? I want to eat them today.

When i eat 2.5 grams i feel little to no effect either way.... i need to eat atleast 5 grams before i get my desired trip, I prefer 7 grams every trip.. but i have eaten really old shrooms before. i Had gone to jail and had shrooms at my house for over a year and a half an they still got me high as fuck.

Thanks for reply dude, but def not my question. This isn't a matter of them being potent and I ate too little. I tripped hard on 1.75 g of the same batch 18 months ago. They have lost all potency, and I'm wondering if my tolerance has remained intact despite me having ingested SOME magic mushrooms.

i just dont understand how they couldve lost all potency if they were dried and stored proper.. But idk try getting some relativley fresh ones and eat a stronger dose, but other then that i cant see the shrooms having an effect on your tolerancy if they didnt give you a buzz.

I know man, I was lying there in bed with just pure anger and annoyance at the fact that I had no buzz whatsoever. I felt a kind of hot pressure in my head that ended up never amounting to anything. I will try these other shrooms and report back if I have any luck.

If anyone gives a fuck, turns out over 12 months in a draw even airtight isn't enough to save potency. 7 grams consumed and nothing. I guess the freezer is the way to go.

Tolerance is based on receptor fitness So if you didn't trip, would assume your fitness is good and should have tolerance
Now... Why didn't you trip Your first assumption probably is right, old mushrooms not preserved correctly and lost tolerance
But, there could be other reasons like you already had tolerance or you are in a Anti-depression drug or... Well, several possible reasons, make sure you ask the question... What else could be wrong
A bit of science Potency loss is the result of oxygen getting to and reacting with the active ingredients in mushrooms. Doing something like grinding them results in greater surface area so more active ingredients are exposed to oxygen. The longer mushrooms sit, exposed to oxygen the more chance oxygen will interact and reduce potency
Moisture increases the chance oxygen will penetrate your mushrooms and can result or cause mold.
Temperature can effect the rate at which oxygen interacts.
So, in storing mushrooms for more than a few months... Cracker dry, whole, sealed bag with as little air as possible. Freezing is an idea, but taking cold things out of the freezer causes condensation... Moisture, so freeze but don't keep taking them out and thawing repeatedly.
Just my two cents
Peace

Thanks for the educated response. It just HAS to be a storage problem. On no meds, hadn't taken psychs in years, and both batches have me intense trips a year ago. Very disappointing. Oh well.
