Your being a fucking cock sucker because your one in a million HPPD sufferers whose got it bad, crying about it, and now your trying to say everyone can get it.
Fucking fear porn at its finest
One in a million heh? I don't even have it bad that's the funny thing. I don't have tracers or stuff like that, just neon shaps on white walls and stuff like that.
In the other HPPD thread there were probably around ten people that admitted to having it.

Yep, pretty much the only option is to get used to it. I will never accept having a psychedelic visual landscape when I am sober though and I will warn new users about this shit tell the day I die.

Be sure to also warn them that if they ever take LSD that they may end up thinking that they are an Orange for the rest of their lives, and if anyone touches them they'll think that their juices will squirt out

Bitter Cactus...you forgot to mention how LSD causes chromosome damage, makes your spine bleed, kills brain cells, makes people jump from windows, and makes people get stuck in a bad trip for life.

None of those things are true, but LSD certainly causes HPPD. Stop denying this shit already.

Just remember boys, the name says it all.
Hallucinogen persisting perception disorder
=
Perception disorder persisting after you take a hallucinogen. If you have a perceptive disorder but have not taken a hallucinogen you do not have HPPD.

HPPD is a life long disorder for most caused by psychedelics, so why are you guys so wary to warn new users about it and let them make an informed decision before tripping.
We are all about education right?
We can educate them about the benefits of psychedelics and the potential risks. That seems like the responsible approach and has nothing to do with demonizing these drugs.

You get it from extremely tough experiences and mental breakdowns while tripping, now putting the thought that you may be stuck with psychedelic visions for the rest of your life is a good way to induce those bad thoughts and trips. I've met hundreds of people that take psychedelics and have never met one person that has it.
There's nothing good that can come of bringing that thought up because there's really no way to prevent it except for set and setting maybe.

Because everyone already fucking knows of the risks BC for fucks sake, its nothing new.
EDIT: TBH BC nobody fucking cares about the risks, even when they know them. Just like how many people smoke cigs, but they know they aren't doing them any good

Bitter Cactus said: For all suffers, here is a forum with information and support to help you treat and deal with your disorder. http://hppdonline.com/
HPPD is a real illness and is caused from using psychedelics. You might get HPPD from your first trip, your second trip, your last trip or you may never get it at all.
Here are the conditions that will tell you if you have HPPD:
- Subjects experience drug-like sensory disturbances while not under the influence of any drugs. - The disturbances interfere with work, school, social settings, or other areas. - There are no other physical or mental conditions that account for the disturbances (lesions, visual epilepsy, schizophrenia, dementia, etc.)
What causes HPPD?
HPPD is defined to be caused by taking 'hallucinogenic' drugs, but its root cause is poorly understood. Dr. Henry Abraham ( a leading researcher in this area) believes that HPPD may be partially genetic though he says that he knows of no published evidence [personal communication - tacovan]. It seems to be most commonly related to LSD use, perhaps because LSD is the most common hallucinogen, but there are also reports of HPPD being caused by other psychedelics such as mushrooms, MDMA, MDA, 2CT7, 5-MEO-DiPT, etc. There are a few people who have HPPD-like symptoms who have never taken any drugs, but the definition of Hallucinogen Persisting Perceptual Disorder does not include these individuals.
Basically, I am pissed off and frustrated with how the community has dealt with this issue. No only is it swept under the rug and downplayed, it is outright denied. People in the psychedelic community know about this condition and know it exists but new users are not being warned. If you are a responsible drug user and are educating a new tripper about the risks of taking psychedelics, all I ask is that you warn them about HPPD.
I want this condition to be acknowledged and for us suffers to receive some support.
Discuss HPPD. This condition is a lot more common then you think by the way.
Boring, didn't read.

Not one user here warned me about HPPD when I was considering tripping for the first time.
I even asked about it numerous times after doing research and the question was always dodged or the condition was always downplayed out outright denied.
I believe knowledge/ eduation = power. With holding that information is not responsible.
