    #2224846 - 01/07/04 03:05 AM (13 years, 1 month ago)

hi all.  II tried making my own custom substrate yesterday I used 50/50 popcorn and millet.  does this soud ok?  also  after PC'ing for 75 mins  the corn is still hard and looks the same as it did originally  (dry and unhydrated)  while the millet is puffy and bigger  did I not soak for long enough?  soak time was about 9-10 hours in hot water  should the corn still look the same???  maybe I'll post pics if no one can answer.  please pm me if you can help it would be greatly appreciated.  thnx,
Iggy

I can't comment on the corn, but I know for a fact that straight millet will give you dynamite results. The shrooms will be packed in health, colour and vitality. The trip they give is good. If I only had one choice of substrate, millet would be it.

corn should be soaked and then cooked to get the best quality out of it.

well since all the millet is in there it should probably still work ok even if I didn't cook the corn?? I hope.
I think Ill just use millet then if it works good. (It does look great its so puffed up and airy)
plus I just found 2, 8 liter pales of millet (white?) in my garage, guess god is telling me to just use millet! lol
thnx for the replys everyone.
