About a week ago I made some brf cakes but in the cooling off process they broke :/ so since I was lazy I was like fudge it and injected some anyways. 1/4 pint jars. Here are some pictures. Some jars have cracks others were completely broken. Noob here, obviously.

Why would you waste spores on a broken jar?

First four pics look healthy to me, the last 3...maybe not so much. Just be careful about handling those jars so much when you take pictures though, contaminated Verm can fall down and contaminate healthy myc. Best of luck

I hope you have some other unbroken jars ready and waiting. Did you let them cool off over night after sterilizing??

They got cracked while cooling? Did you pressure cook them without a trivet? (Jars touching the bottom of the PC)

I let them cool off for 30 hours after pressure cooking. I put a cloth down between the jars and the bottom. I do have more jars just waiting. I just wanted to see if it'd work lol

Pic 5 6 and 7 look iffy. Id isolate those away from the first 4 pics. You dont really need to wait long for the jars to cool. I only wait about 3 hours then inoculate them. I have been doing it this way for a while and its been working. It really just depends on how cool your house is and all that. My jars cool down, after PC'ing for 70 minutes, in only 3 hours. I feel them and they are completely cool to the touch.
Before you get them out of the PC let them cool for a while inside of it. They cant be exposed to cool air too quickly. Same reason you start with cool water. Glass absorbs the temp around it so too quickly heating up can cause it to crack since the molecules will be slightly expanded quicker than normal. Reverse applies as well.

I would stack some jar rings in the bottom of your PC and then put a layer of foil to provide a platform for your jars if you don't have a trivet...instead of just using a cloth. I usually PC my jars late at night, then let them cool while I sleep (around 8 hours should be plenty of time) I take the PC off the stove and set it to cool in a safe place (wooden kitchen shelf)...and just leave the jars in the PC. Then when you take them out the next day to inoculate in your SAB, they are cool and hopefully still sterile. You will learn what works best for you, I started out with a tiny PC and made a million mistakes and I'm still learning today.
