Canon 70d, 18-55mm, sometimes with extension tubes. It's a pretty simple setup, that allows for some decent snapshots like these. But when you also use a tripod, diffused flashes, reflectors, and a remote, then it can become a pretty serious setup. Photography is all about how much time you want to put into it.

Do you happen to still know where this may be, it is a Ganodermataceae of some sort, perhaps Ganoderma, but might be something a little more interesting, is this in Florida?

Yes, MrCloudy, I remember where these are. You think they'd be there this weekend still? That pic was a couple weeks ago... oh, and yes, southwest Fla.

I bet there's even more than before! We could probably get you some, Mr Cloudy
Art, speaking of a forage again soon, did you get my facebook link about that guided mushroom tour? I'll probably go to that one of these weekends.
Thanks again, everyone.Quote:

Those were definitely the largest Gaestrum that I have ever seen. About three inches diameter.

Excellent! They could be some random mutant G.curtisii or something but I have a suspicion they could be Tomophagus collosus formerly Ganoderma collosum, which has been reported in Florida. Much more common in the tropics of Asia and South America though. I know very little of its morphology other than the written descriptions.
