Are you concerned about chemical residues on your vegetables? 1

Hi. You know how unless you buy organic, chances are good that there will be chemicals on your veggies, such as insecticides, fertilizers, and maybe something else, too. Are you ever concerned about it? Someone once told me I should wash my veggies in water that has baking soda in it, but I have doubts. I think that a lot of these chemicals are oil-based, I doubt a wash in baking soda dissolved in water is going to help.
Thoughts?

I don't worry about it too much. I hardly ever wash my veggies and I'm pretty healthy so far.

The poison is in the dose. If your immune system is strong you don't have much to worry about.

Many of the poisons are systemic, meaning the plant absorbed them. That can't be washed off. Then you have gmo which either has poison in it or unknown substances. They use the public as guinea pigs to see what that crap does to people. Organic is the only way to go.

Organic food is too much money. I'm not going to pay $6 for a banana because it might be safer.

Even if you buy organic there is still a whole litany of nasty shit on your veg. Vermin shit, bugs, brake dust, dirt, bacteria et al.
Whenever I use fresh produce I give it a good scrub.
I find that not peeling my produce yields a tastier end product. Skins add flavor, even if they were covered in grodie
