My shroom pins are not growing at all. Keep getting new heads, but then they just stay that way. They have been like it for about 1-2 weeks. Are these aborts? (Most lilely yes lol ) If so, is there anyway to prevent them from aborting in the future? Thanks for answering (:

Looks like you are using vermiculate instead of perlite at the bottom of your tub? Try using a shotgun fruiting chamber and follow the tek to the T and you should have better results.

Yes misting four times a day but most the water just runs off the walls and some goes directly On the shrooms. Also, im fanning by hand lol, got no fan . They were by my window for some time, so maybe too much light and too cold!? Do you reckon they might need some fresh air? Maybe i should give them fresh air for 10 mins 3 times a day? Then leave them somewhere not too cold after?

Perlite is a porous rock that has tiny little holes that help in evaporation of water. For growing mushrooms, this is what provides your humidity. Perlite can be found at Home Depot. Vermiculate is a non nutritive substrate which helps to absorb moisture and creates a microclimate for pinning. A shotgun fruiting chamber is a clear plastic tub with 1/4" holes drilled every 2" on all six sides, the bottom 5" is filled with wet perlite to create high humidity. You also need to fan and mist 3-4 times a day or as needed. The holes allow for proper fresh air exchange which is the most important pinning trigger.

for a 66qt you might need 2 or 3 bags to get the right depth. like $2 and some change a piece depending on location and store. do you guys think he cake bake out all that verm and use later for cakes? all i can think is that tub prolly smells like straight decay and bacteria. with water soaked, unsterilized, verm thats been sitting for 2+ weeks. despite few nutrients for them thats a lot of 'stagnant' water
