Never ever take your car to Jiffy lube. They are complete idiots and/or scammers.
My friend had to sue them to get his engine replaced when he took his car there and they changed the oil and didn't tighten the oil plug down all the way. He was leaking oil all the way home and then his engine seized and died when it went dry. Also they have been caught by news stations all over the place charging people for repairs and then never even doing them.

An oil change is super easy. My mechanic does mine in less than 5 minutes. You will need a jack and some other things but it's super easy to do. Just don't tighten the screw too tight or else it can break.

Sears is the same way I had a friend that worked there. He said they hire people with no knowledge or experience and will straight up lie to you to upsell services. On top of that the services were not done correctly i.e. coolant or transmission flush was simply draining and refilling. What a lot of people don't realize is that the people doing oil changes, changing tires, and other basic maintenance are not mechanics.

When I was 16 I decided to change the oil on my 68 Nova. I pulled up over a curb to raise the front end. That was the last of my good ideas. I got under there with my mother's giant turkey pan, loosened the bolt and let it all drain. When I slid the pan out from under the car I said "Oh, I didn't know oil was red." It was the transmission fluid.

I've had nothing but problems from jiffy. They even broke one of my lights and tried to say it was already broken, like WTF........
Giant scammers. And it wasn't just that location. I had another location try and scam me too.

only thing worse than jiffy lube is family members who offer to lend you a car as long as you agree to do the maintence, so they give you a car with a tranny about to fall out and then try to make you pay for it
