Question re: fruiting chamber lighting - internal vs external

Hi there. I'm working on my first grow and will be building my terrarium soon, but I have a question regarding the lighting. I checked the search and nothing seems speifically to address this.
Background: I've been scouting my house for a suitable location to place the chamber, and the place I found doesn't seem to have easy access to anywhere I can clip or suspend a light easily.
I found a 2-foot t5 6500k fluorescent fixture that looks like the best bet for lighting. But since I have no cabinery or anything to mount it to, can I mount it inside my chamber?
I'm tinking I either mount it to the underside of the lid or the wall of the container, with a port drilled to run the wire to the timer/outlet.
Does this system seem like a good idea? Can anybody think of any hazards/pitfals with this method? Would the humidity affect the electronics?
Alternative: could I just prop a cfl in a plug-in socket on the lid with like a coat-hanger or something?
Am using a shotgun fruiting chamber with pf tek cakes.

Better place it on top of the lid. you could just use something you put between them and the lid to keep a little distance as you can see in my glorious picture
(I think the humidity is not great for electronics and the heating could mess with the air flows in a SGFC

edit: also make sure the SGFC has enough free space to all sides (also that it's lifted up from the ground)

I would suggest leds. Not only are they much smaller than some of the florescent options they barely emit any heat.

I bought a cheap lamp and timer from Walmart... It has a top fixture and a "Flexible Arm" fixture...I took the plastic lampshade off the top fixture and put my 2 "CFL 6500k daylight" bulbs in the fixtures, plug them into the timer (I use a 12 hour on/ 12 hour off schedule). The top fixture provides indirect light for my colonizing jars and the arm fixture can be pointed directly at my tubs. Everyone has their own way... You just have to find what works for you.

I bought a 6400k 2-foot t5 from my local grow shop. It would have cost me about the same for a fixture and a couple cfl bulbs, so I figured I'd go with the grow light. That way I can wash the whole shotgun chamber with light rather than from a direct source.... so the thinking goes.
That being said, I'm on pf tek try #3 and after a week of colonizing, I'm not seeing anything. A bit of condensation on the glass and what could be sour rot (again). So I'm going to wait another week and see what happens.

On the outside of the chamber, nothing electric will last inside it.
