No cobweb. My trays always look like that, but turn out great. Maybe it's just the pic. The brownish spots are what I can't figure out though.

Neurospora or trichothecium
I don't see visible pinning of the mold... It is definitely looking like its sporulating aspergillus is a very good candidate as well.
It probably way more dispersed than just those couple of spots... Spores go everywhere.
I bet it's spread since you opened this thread,,, is that true?
If it has spread I wouldn't even attempt to keep it!

Thank you for the input. Yeah, I already tossed all of them out. Since you said that it is sporulating, do you think that I should sanitize the fruiting chambers with bleach water, just to be safe?

All? How many had the brown? Or Did they all have the brown? I woulda just thrown/buried the brown spotted ones,
I'm guessing since u were so quick to throw em out that it had actually spread?
If you still know where they are ya could try burying them outside, if it's not snowing where your at and temps are around 60 to 80 degrees farenheit, go get em and bury em
Cover them up with a lit bit of the soil. If you get something try and post it, I read peeps saying they get something but they never take any pictures of their buried cakes actual fruits.
YES I would bleach water. Sterilize as best as possible

I haven't ever sanitized a room. I just worked on clean spawn and agar. You'd be surprised how much shit you should be considering before doing a full room cleanup.
Not saying it's bad techniques, just saying ime I've never had contam problems originate from a dirty room.

UPDATE: Yes, the contam did spread overnight. Slowly, but I could clearly tell that the problem areas were multiplying. I didn't completely destroy the contaminated trays. I put them outside in a shaded area just to see if it does fruit. If it does, I will definitely take the time to take a pic or two and post them.
Mad, I will agree with you on sanitizing the entire room. I only do that once a year. I focus mostly on clean spawn, as you said. The problem had nothing to do with the room. I still have a few quart jars of spawn that I didn't use and haven't been opened. All of them have the contam inside the jars. Here's a pic of one of those jars.
