A larger % of our populous live away from city and 'culture'...thus our high rankings in regard to religion and low in regards of science.

Denver, Colorado, is at a higher altitude than Los Angeles, California. Which of these statements is correct?
You answered "Water boils at the same temperature in both Denver and Los Angeles."
The correct answer is "Water boils at a lower temperature in Denver than Los Angeles."
When the water boils it will be at 212 degrees regardless of altitude right? In Denver you could get it boiling with a lower heat coming from the burner, but if you had a thermometer in the water it still wouldn't boil until it reached 212 or am I wrong about this?

Yes you are wrong. The boiling point of liquids depends on the pressure of its environment. Water boils at 212° at sea level. As you go up in elevation, air pressure decreases and boiling points lower. The boiling point of water at the top of Mount Everest is 160°

Conceptually you can reason it pretty easily. Boiling water is water escaping from the liquid and becoming gaseous in the air above it. If there is more air above it pushing down then its harder to escape. If there is less air above the liquid pushing down, its easier to escape.

For every foot of water you go down, the boiling point of water rises about 1°
If you had a column of water 100ft tall, you would have to heat the bottom of the column it nearly 300° to get it to boil. This is due to the pressure exerted by water above. However, as that 300° water at the bottom begins to cause water at the top to boil off very fast and you have a chain reaction where there is now less pressure at the bottom and you get an explosive vaporization of the entire column of water. This is how geysers work.

It was so easy, I thought it would be hard but it wasn't.
"You answered 12 of 12 questions correctly."
I didn't even have to think about most of them, they were so obvious. But to a non scientific person or someone not familiar with optics, astronomy or a few other things might have missed one or two. No shame in that. For example I simply remembered who made the polio vaccine.

It's a mixture of naive trust of every thing that leaves any scientists mouth coupled with a complete lack of regard towards subjects that scientists haven't found any proof towards... Experiences are proofs that cannot be quantized, yet they are basically shunned from scientific regard because of that fact. It is a sense of rigidity and overly logical approach.
And don't get me wrong, I love science and the fruits it yields... I just think people go too far with what isn't truly science and is more of a social construct built up around it.

Word. People are so naïve, they think we have fusion now because a big company put out a press release. They think quantum computers can do all these marvelous things because they read a story about it. Maybe some day but not today. Science has been wrong about most things it was certain of historically and we can safely project that many things we believe today will turn out to be much different than we imagined once we learn more.

I got the water boiling one wrong.
I knew it was different depending on the elevation, just wasn't sure which way... I actually answered it right at first then changed it before submitting, knew I should've went with my first instinct.
The only other one that was even remotely difficult was the polio vaccine one, but I used process of elimination.

i got 11/12
missed this one:
Denver, Colorado, is at a higher altitude than Los Angeles, California. Which of these statements is correct?
You answered "Water boils at the same temperature in both Denver and Los Angeles."
The correct answer is "Water boils at a lower temperature in Denver than Los Angeles."

Yeah, the water one takes physics know how. In space, with no air pressure water boils at such a low temp that our blood would boil if we were out in it.

I didn't even have to think about most of them, they were so obvious. But to a non scientific person or someone not familiar with optics, astronomy or a few other things might have missed one or two. No shame in that. For example I simply remembered who made the polio vaccine.

Asante, it is also an asteroid but the tail on it and the fact it was icy tips it into the comet category. Asteroids are normally rock or so we think and do not have the tail because they don't come in close to the sun on part of the orbit.
Astrology has as much validity as weather forecasting.

Some attacks are really viscous though, they splatter into you and then sorta ooze off of you slowly.

It's nothing to do with grammar that's a superficial measure of intellect. It's the complete lack of intellectual depth and Anything interesting or creative about any of his posts..not just troll posts but all I've seen. Tho like most posters I mainly ignore him because I don't give a fuck what they have to say. So maybe there's depth to him I'm missing but if so I don't give a fuck off to smoke a blunt now

I don't get whats so complicated about turning off the autocorrect on an android. Like every second person writing on their phone complains about that. Why?

It is actually a lot easier to type on a phone with autocorrect on. The keyboard is tiny and it is very easy to hit an adjacent character. With autocorrect on, it almost always figures out what word you intended to say and will replace the incorrect letters without having to go back and fix them.

Autocorrect sucks if you are like me and actually wanna use Swype and spit words out on the screen quickly..you gotta really be slow in order for autocorrect to be accurate and not confuse social with suicidal
