My First Flush

Hey guys,
I just thought I'd post a few pix of my freshly birthed cakes. This is my first cultivation and I inoculated 11 jars total on 23Aug. One of the 11 became contaminated. Six are pictured here and 4 are not yet fully colonized. All of these are GT and 3 of the remaining 4 are called Thai Tannic (I have no idea what they actually are). I'll add some pix as the come along. I'm pumped and all seems to be going perfectly!

Thanks man! I was estimating my first harvest in about 5 days. Does that look right to you?

Thanks guys. Growing seemed like a huge pain in the ass, but it was so easy. I need to study some bulk grows for next time.

Things still look pretty good, but I'm getting some white fuzz. Temps are about 76F and the humidity is 97%

Could be lack of FAE, what TEK did you follow for your FC?

I plan to dunk on my second flush. I don't have the materials for a roll. I'm in a super remote location. I'm using an air pump and fanning several times a day.

I had an aquarium heater but it burped its cookies. I'm using a heating pad now with great results. I'm also using an aquarium air pump cycling 4x a day. I'm also fanning 2x a day. Should I leave the lid off for a day?

I did kind of the same thing for my second grow and I can tell you a SGFC is way(!) better than the airpump versions (and you need no electricity as bonus )
build it up like it is described here SGFC
It will be worth it
(try to be as exact as possible, don't skip the holes on the bottom side and drill them in the right size and distance from another)
Edit: I tossed the heating, airpump and even my humidifier and had huge success with it (perhaps ill add a pic later

I have build like 3 different fruiting chambers. Because I am a smart ass who likes to build things and by far the best results are now from the SGFC (with no extras except a lighting. No heating, no ventilators, no humidifiers)
best pinset I had now

looking good, so far, my first cakes grew from the bottom only too, then I did a simple casing http://www.fungifun.org/English/Casing for the second flush and it made my yield so much better, cased cakes are the only way to go in my experience.

I'd love to case them, but the stuff wont get here in time for my second flush. I'll just need to plan my next batch more carefully.

I converted to a shotgun setup for my second flush. The difference has been immediately obvious. This stuff is a blast to learn!
