Panaeolus with sticky cap?
    #22241252 - 09/15/15 12:48 PM (8 years, 4 months ago)

Good evening fellow psychonauts

First time poster so firstly I'd like to say this is such an awesome site for reference and covers some interesting topics. Today as I was taking the liberty of a nice afternoon stroll when I came across amongst others what seems to be a pan of some description. I am new to hunting mushrooms and wondered if any one could please ID for me?
Habitat was grassland with deer/sheep. The cap and stem were extremely sticky and Cap has umbo I've not seen on these pan looking species before. Spores look black to brown. I Attached few pics to help
Cheers everyone glad to be on board

Looks like pan cinc to me. The only thing is the spore print
It does look pretty black to me and all the other factors are correct so I'm going to say pan cinc
Though because I can't tell 100% that that spore print is black you must decide that on your own. If it is black your have pan cinc. If brown its pan foe.
But it looks black
Good find

They look like Protostropharia semiglobata

Cool thanks so the dung Roundhead makes sense as there were the more obvious Roundheads present in the same location (near but not right next to it)

Guess the umbo and stickyness threw the newbie☺️ Thought it was some kind of pan as I know some are actives

Thanks again!

These are more robust than pans and are consistently yellowy coloured.
