Greetings, mycologists, cultivators and others.
You probably hear this all the time, and I have searched through a couple posts, but there's just something that I don't think a post is dedicated to.
Everyone is saying that you can store syringes in a refrigerator for a couple months and you'll be great, blah blah blah BUUUT this one post said that you should wrap the needle of the syringe with masking tape.
Is that true and do you guys have any other tips?

What purpose would it serve?

You can store syringes for long-term in a cool, dry place with no problems. The masking tape is unnecessary.

Honestly my only advice is just put them somewhere not too hot. Because too hot is a breeding ground for contams. As long as your needle is still covered it should be fine. If it wasnt covered and it was exposed to non sterile environments then be aware of what you inoculate with that one since its more prone to contams than one would be if it werent used and still covered.
Just be safe with how you handle them because they can get contams in through the needle tip where it is open and exposed to open air. If the air around is full of contams you can bet it will find its way into that needle. Storing unused ones is fine as long as its room temp or lower.
