In places where everyone has a gun it's actually not a utopia believe it or not. Somalia everyone has a machine gun. You want to live in Somalia? Self defense with a gun is retarded anyway.

"For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, If I die, you will be forgiven, But if I live, I WILL FUCKING KILL YOU!! ...such is a fool of honor"
He twisted the shit out of that quote for his own purpose... I'm not surprised.

I kind of knew that people were going to say that "vigilante justice" is only justifiable or acceptable in certain scenarios. The general census seems to be that it depends on the situation. I just wanted to hear further discussion on the topic. That's all.

No but I do believe in self defense.
EDIT: I come from a country where I'm going to safely assume has more crime than like 90% of members country.Families involved with the Cartel , kidnappings murders. Guns don't increase safety. Technically the avg gang member who kills/shoots believes he is bringing about some form of vigilante justice. People do kill for little reasons. Men and women have been killed in my country for things such as a vehicular accident or living next door to a family that was killed last week.
All in all, self defense is a must but vigilante justice will always be a joke because it varies from hanging a rapist in India to shooting a guy for talking shit. Just my 2c and thanks for reading guys.

From a purely logical stand point, I don't think it's a good idea. You can start accepting it only the most extreme cases but over time that line is going to get blurrier and blurrier whether or not anyone wants to admit it. It's easy to see how it could progress. You start off killing drug dealers who murdered people over drug debts/feuds. Then you start in on the ones who intentionally sell bad product that got your family killed. Then you jump to the ones who sold large ammounts to someone they know is likely going to OD on it. Then you start targeting them all because of what they might do.
Won't happen over night, but if you start accepting it, it's going to evolve over time.
How does one get 2 years for murder? What exactly happen ? Were they fighting and it got out of control? If someone killed a family member and i knew who they were they would be killed a year or two after the fact. Its as easy as finding said target alone at night with noone around and shooting him with an illegal gun/stolen gun....

I find it odd people believe is easy to catch a killer... It might be if they are sloppy and leave evidence behind or talk about it on facebook but murder is rather easy to get away with..

Not so sure if I agree with that statement. "Murder is easy to get away with" The detectives & other law enforcement agents working the case of the suspected killer or killer (who just got out of prison that was murdered) some of the first suspects would be people who have a motive to murder him/her. In this scenario I would imagine likely suspects would be family members of the killer's victim. In my opinion, getting away with murder would be pretty damn hard & even more difficult if you knew your victim. I could be very wrong but just my two cents. Don't worry guys, I'm a professional... I watch Forensic Files.

Here's the full story:
No it was flat out murder. He shot him point blank with a shotgun in the chest. It wasn't an accident, it wasn't during an actual physical altercation, he just shot him. He is a thuggy low life piece of shit. I'm sure there was some argument, but nothing to even remotely justify him pointing a gun at my brother, much less shooting him. It wouldn't have been the first time my brother told someone if they're gonna point a gun at him they had better shoot him. He was one of those people who wasn't sacred of anything and would not back down from a fight. The last person who pulled a gun on him, didn't pull the trigger and ended up in the hospital. My brother wasn't a saint but he didn't deserve that. Was victimized a lot as a child and just one day decided no more and became that person.
My brother would most likely be alive today, if the other people there (yes, there were even plenty of fucking witnesses) had actually called an ambulance. Instead they were all too scared of the shooter to do anything. He decided he was gonna go hide the gun first, and THEN call for an ambulance. My brother laid there with a hole in his chest and bleeding to death, fully conscious for the entire time it took for the guy to run the gun to a house a few blocks over and come back, and for the first responders to show up. My brother was also no snitch. When the first responders got there and was asking him questions, he just told them "I'm not telling you shit". IMO that's stupid as fuck, but that is who he was.
The dude got 2 years because he was 17 at the time, and was tried as a juvenile. Which is some fucking bullshit. If he were ONE year older, he'd be doing 25 to life. I don't have any fucking clue what he was supposed to learn in that year that would have prevented him from being the piece of shit he was, but apparently the court thought there was something. I don't even think he did the full 2 years. He most definitely was not rehabilitated. Within a week of getting out he started giving vague enough death threats that the cops couldn't do anything about it to my other brother and mother on a weekly (at least) basis. He'd also call up just to taunt them and talk about how he basically got away with murder.
I don't even know if I should be admitting this, but believe me, I thought long and hard about taking justice into my own hands. I even felt (and kinda still do) that I deserve to be able to since the "justice system" failed me so badly. Actually badly doesn't even describe it, maybe abysmally. If I had my way, I'd be performing the first Blood Eagle in I don't know how many centuries.

You've just explained how the murder police work a case. I'm friends with a guy who's brother is a homicide detective. He basicly told me the same thing but in more detail. He starts with who knew the victim and builds a picture of their life and relationships from there. He did tell me that random murders are almost impossible to solve, and thats why serial killers are so hard to capture.

Whoever says that to his a dumb fuck soon to be murder victim.
I remember one time a couple gunmen were holding up a bar and collecting the wallets from the customers. One customer said they could take his wallet over his dead body. And so they killed him and took it over his dead body.
Sorry but telling someone who has the better of you over my dead body or if I live I will kill you is not honorable it is in contention for a darwin award.

Absolutely, it just is a lot harder in the real world than the comic books make it out to be. Especially getting it right, emotion can blind the real truth from people.

Me personally, if a mugger or robber told me to give up my wallet or any other tangible item I'd hand it over in a heart beat. I have courage but I don't have a death wish. My courage only goes to a certain level... If I'm considered a coward then I guess I'm a coward... I'd rather be a coward then a die hard dead man because when I'm dead an act of courage like that won't really matter much, will it? I think it's easy for one to say that they wouldn't when they aren't faced with the real situation. Sorry, just my thought on that.
Dionili, what if the rapist had a gun & was willing to kill you & the rape victim? Then do you think it is reasonable for a bystander to let a rape play out? Just playing devil's advocate-not trying to start a shit storm.
