Is it acting weird? Unequal pupils are not a good neurological sign.

Gotta go to the vet, man.  That's not right unless it has always been that way.

No idea, but I'd take him as son as possible. I've misjudged the urgency of pet problems before... It sucks

What is anisocoria?

anisocoria-in-cats-1In cats, the pupil is an elliptically-shaped opening in the middle of the iris that allows light to pass through the eye to the retina. The pupil constricts or dilates (enlarges) according to the amount of light that enters the eyes, with both pupils normally dilating in dim light and constricting in bright light. Anisocoria is a condition in which the two pupils of the cat's eye are different sizes; in other words one pupil is larger than the other. In some cases, the abnormal pupil may be the one that is smaller and in other cases the abnormal pupil may be the one that is larger.

What causes anisocoria?

"Anisocoria occurs suddenly, you should seek veterinary care immediately"

Anisocoria is a symptom and there can be several different causes, including:
•Corneal injury such as an ulcer
•Disease or injury to the brain or to the nerves running to the affected eye
•Glaucoma, a disease in which there is increased pressure within the eye (the pupil in the affected eye will be dilated)
•Uveitis, or inflammation of the interior of the eye (the pupil in the affected eye will usually be constricted)
•Retinal disease
•Scar tissue formation between the iris and the lens (called posterior synechia), a condition that may develop subsequent to uveitis
•Iris atrophy, or a decrease in the amount of tissue within the iris, usually a degenerative change associated with aging
•Congenital defect of the iris, in which the iris tissue does not develop properly
•Cancer within the affected eye
•Spastic pupil syndrome - a syndrome that may be associated with Feline Leukemia virus infection

If anisocoria occurs suddenly, you should consider this an emergency situation and seek veterinary care immediately to lessen the chance that your cat's vision will be permanently affected.

Alright then, picture this if you will:
10 to 2 AM, X, Yogi DMT, and a box of Krispy Kremes, in my "need to know" post, just outside of Area 51.
Contemplating the whole "chosen people" thing with just a flaming stealth banana split the sky like one would hope but never really expect to see in a place like this.
Cutting right angle donuts on a dime and stopping right at my Birkenstocks, and me yelping...
Holy fucking shit!
