Heavy condensation inside Pasty plates

Sup guys, I decided to whip up my first batch of Pasty plates last night. Followed the tek to a T. What is the quickest way to reduce the high level of condensation on the sides of the plate?

Do you think I should remove the foil in open air or in my SAB? I've also read somewhere that turning your plates upside down will help reduce the condensation, not sure if that's true or not.
I will be cloning a couple of these mushies from my last dub tub grow. The first pic is from this morning, the others are from last night. This is an MS grow and the tub is on its 5th flush!!

It's too much water in your agar mix. When you initially mix everything together in a pot and heat it. Heat it a little longer to make your agar mix thicker and lets more water evap away from it. Once everything is said and done you'll have much less condensation and yeah storing upside down prevents water from running onto the surface.i would recommend that because I ran into the same issue

Okay I was following Munch's videos. He used 1/2 cup of water, 2.5 grams agar, and 3.5 grams potato flakes. I heated up the mix until it was boiling a bit, and it got very thick. In his videos, it seems more liquidy I'm really not sure how thick the mix should be before pouring into plates at this point.
My mix hardened into a jello like substance right before I pc'ed so I don't think too much water was an issue. I'll def try flipping the plates and see if that helps. I'll be cloning tomorrow morning, hopefully most of the condensation is gone by then.

No, the lid will collect water and then when u flip it over you will flood the culture....

Condensation is from a temperature differential.....you need to store them in a cooler of some type, like an insulated lunch box or something....

Okay thanks for the input, guess it was outdated info.

Should I store them in my fridge or is that too cold? And should I be taking the foil off now or wait until I place it in the SAB?

My bad I didn't mean "too much" as in the measurments are wrong just that simmering for a bit reduces the water content a little. Than I put upright in the fridge til they set and they worked fine the condensation was very little

stack them and put a cup of warm water on top and wait 20 minutes or so, don't flip them.

I gradually bring down the heat on the PC over the course of 15 or so minutes. I heard that may help. I also dont fill my pasty plates quite as deep as you did on some of yours. Maybe try those things on your next run and see if that helped. My first run at pasty plates resulted in loads condensation and those are the 2 things that I altered and they come out great now.

yes slowly turning the pressure down helps alot as well. i prep mine days in advance and by then the condensation is gone anyway

Thanks for the tip! Is there any negatives to cloning now? All the mushies are fully matured and have sporulated already.

well that's one problem is that they are mature, pins are much better

But if they're pins how can you tell if they have good genetics or not, if you don't let them mature fully?

what do you consider "good genetics"? fro me it's a nice cluster of mushrooms

That's true. I was thinking of cloning the biggest mushroom possible, if you clone too early, then you can't know for sure.

Just because you clone the biggest mushroom, doesn't mean you'll grow big mushrooms. Trust me, I cloned a monster pe6 fruit and the tub fruited wall to wall but 2" to 3" tall fruits.

Should I take the folded paper towel that is covering the GE hole( single strip of micropore tape) off or leave it on the entire time. Not sure if micropore can protect against all airborne contams from getting to the culture. Thanks for the help guys. I'm about to do some cloning right now!
Anybody have any luck trying to clone fruits that are fully mature?

So i went ahead and cloned the big mushie in the middle of the pic about a week ago. The growth on the pasty plate looks good. Can you guys let me know where I should be taking my first transfer? Should I be taking just one of those tiny strands that are spreading outward? Sorry for the blurriness of the pic, but you get the idea.
