GoldenEye said: My eyelid wouldn't close on its own. So my eye dried out. So this surgeon had the brilliant idea of putting some extra weight in it.
I had to go to the dentist to get a cast of my eye made in the same stuff they use to make a cast of your teeth for making your braces. They cut the bottom from a plastic cup, placed the opened up cup on my eye, asked me to close it (which it can't do - that's why I was there in the first place ), and poured that gypsum type of stuff into the cup and onto my eye.
So then they made a thin fitting plate stretching the entire length and width of my eyelid. It was implanted and gold was used because it is supposed to be inert. But still, after years, my body chose to encyst it and there was a pretty sharp edge to the thing that caused a little hole to appear on the side of my eyelid. I went to the doctor who agreed to take it out.
He said, we could use local aneasthetics but you'd feel one sting from the injection. Or I could grab tweezers and yank it out, which is another sting. So I asked if I could pull it out myself and I did.
Of course the hole started to bleed so I needed stitches, again without aneasthetics, one stitch is just as bad as one injection after all.
Insurance paid for everything and I got to keep the plate.
Here is a picture:

zomg my eyelid doesnt close aswell... well most of the time. Someone else that knows what its like to think you are winking at everyone, no? maybe I should do this shit. Is the gold very heavy and worth much or is it just a few grams?

It's 1.3 grams. And I don't recommend it, it never got very comfortable. I always had the feeling it was flatter than the curve of my eye and too sharp. So I would wiggle it around a lot by touching it with my hands. I could push one end down and make the other end lift so I would teeter totter it back and forth all the time. And it didn't actually improve any irritation I get from not closing my eye fully. It still went dry a lot.
But, if you're looking to kickstart your gold stack with 1.3 grams I'd say go for it
