Does anyone else name their plants? Also need help naming my newest Salvia divinorum!
    #22235034 - 09/13/15 11:48 PM (8 years, 4 months ago)

In the last 10 years I have become such a fanatical gardner! I have several outdoor gardens, potted plants, plants in every window etc. I really enjoy anything I can keep for years. My oldest is an Aloe Vera that is just about to flower for the first time in the 4 years I've had her. The aloe, I lovingly named Mama. I just received my first T. Pachanoi last spring and named "him" Pedro. I just recently rescued a venus flytrap from the death camp that is walmart's garden center. I thought of going the easy route to name it Venus, but my 4 year old decided on Junior. I was finally able to get my hands on a Wasson-Hoffman Salvia divinorum plant, but I'm stumped as to what to name this powerful plant. I just can't think of a name to do her justice. I'm excited to see if I'm the only plant nut naming his babies (doubtful) and I'd love some help naming this lil Sally D.!

You should name the salvia after you, and name it You.

And if someone asks why it's named You, tell them "I named it after you."

Did you buy your Salvia divinorum online possibly? How does that work, do you grow from seed or get a clone maybe?

I have never thought of trying to grow it.

Fun play on words there.

I would ask the plant what plant's name is.
