It tends to puff up during the simmering process and becomes very starchy, which makes your grains clump together more after the PC cycle. It's best to avoid it, if you can.

I have never had a problem with corn.....it makes great spawn, and gets colonized just like the rest....
You just have to avoid the simmer/boil.....

And how long would that corns perfection point be? I'm brand new to Wbs. Im aware that cracked corn isn't the best and I'm pretty much in the trial and error stage. I plan on doing three more jars tmrw. Add a little verm in the jars and pc for two hours? Is the simmer nessicary? And how do you guys feel about the soak?

Those jars were cooked for 80 min on 12 psi. They could probably use more drying and cooking

Ive seen at least 3 threads where the beginning stages of myc look very fuzzy. I would leave them be for now. Give it another week before tossing.
I was thinking the same thing 2 weeks ago and now I have 12 jars at 100%

When a good portion become colonized . Whole point of shaking to to break up colonized parts to move them to other parts of the container to allow the mycelium to reach it quicker.

I agree. I do not see anything bad at this point. Shake the jars and let them grow, let them grow, don't hold them back anymore

That is rhizo growth indeed!! Make sure to do the smell test before spawning just to be sure it's clean spawn.

My question now is how far along is that jar. It's all the way around and up to the glass and I know it's filled in the middle. But does it have to be 100% white. Because there are some seeds not fully covered
