I'm assuming this is after innoculation?

It can be done immediately following inoculation. This is showing mixing before inoculation. Both are equally acceptable times. The important thing is to break it up for faster results. You can see that although the bag does not inflate per say, mixing will break the vacuum allowing a small amount of air through the filter.
Now the former 'block' is light and fluffy and ready for mycogoodness.

Awsome. My friend just bought some mycobags, I'll have to remind him to try that technique! Music included of course!

My dog did the same thing to his new bags, after reading mycobag's posts we can all learn something that helps extra, casings bags? I heard allowing light only to the top of the bag helps alot w/ fruiting. My dog innoc'd about 4 days ago he said, hopefully he'll see improved results compaired to the last one which was a contam. He'd using Argintine's too, mmmm.

My 3-toed sloth innoced a couple mycobags with lipa yai and a couple more with b+. And the bags seem to be moving along slower than he is. It's been about a month, and he hasn't seen any signs of colonization, or comtams. He shook the bags up and made sure it was all nice and fluffy before innoc.

I heard one guy say on here that it took 3 months for his to colonize. Is that the average time or what?

I am sorry I can not answer your specific question. There is nothing added to the bags to prevent or even slow down growth, from my experience it is the opposite. I know that using a culture instead of spores would help. Aside from the basics of temperature I do not know what the problem might be.
Of course I stand behind our product and if you feel you got a defective bag send us a email and we will help out.

weak spore solution
bag dried out
contamination (if it smells bad -- you can't always see it.)

....what I could think of

I don't think there was any point in bumping this thread except to advertise your product and take up space in the forum.

Just my opinion.

Is the video still up? I was thinking of ordering some bags in a few day and would love to check this out.

I know this is an old thread, but if you mash your bags while some mycellium has grown to spead up the process, (which some people have suggested in other threads) won't this bruise the mycellium and cause damage to it?
