I predict mold. Straight coffee is notorious for mold. Did you sterilize it, and the jar. Not to mention all of the contaminants on the mushroom pieces. Not trying to bust your balls, just be ready for a fail.

From my experience, you are better off making a grain spawn with coffee grounds mixed in. This will give the mycelium a better "footing" to jump of onto the substrate, the thing about coffee grounds is that they are contaminated from the moment they are made... as if you make a pot of coffee and let the grounds sit 3 days you will see mold growing, I would suggest if RE-Purposing your grains to clean you maker thoroughly, also freeze if you are saving up to have enough to do a few jars. I would always PC it thought just to be safe Imo... good luck

I have some success with straight coffee ground with lime. I get daily a bag of 3-5kg at 60% moisture from the coffee shop, from the last 24h. I add 3.5% of gypsum, 2% of lime, 10% of wood pellet to correct moisture, 25% of grain oyster spawn, mix and bag. Almost all colonize ok, with no contamns. Trich don't show up before 1st or 2nd flush, at the bag holes, but not when I put a vermiculite/lime casing. Yields are not really lower than when I PC it or pasteurize it. It worked with stem butts as well when i tried. In the picture, looks like you could add a bit more mushroom pieces. Do you use a filter on the jar for gas exchange ?

I grew a small oyster (wild clone) in my office. A few days later I made coffee and left town for a month. When I got back the grounds (still in the machine) appeared to be colonized by oyster mycelium. I assume this means oysters can sometimes outrun airborne molds on coffee grounds, even starting from spores.
