Species #5
Habitat: In a field in which cattle are sometimes seen grazing. A donkey and goat graze here often.
Gills: Pores(?) Pure white colour.
Stem: None!
Cap: 16-22cm diameter. Pure white colour.
Spore print colour: Not observed.
Bruising: Not observed.
Location: Clare, Ireland.
Other information: Several of these are easily spotted in the field. The largest one looks rotten (green inside). Very large mushroom from what I'm used to seeing. About the size, weight, texture, as a football. Has a weighted consistency. Applying pressure is easily done without breaking the inside.

Calvatia gigantea. The one that is not pure white inside is past eating.

Appreciate your help and diligence.
Let me ask you something -- I make a habit of asking here on Shroomery for help with identification of mushrooms which I know don't look anything like the psychedelic species that are said to grow in my area. Am I abusing the identification system by regularly asking for help here with identifying non-psychedelic mushroom species? Is the help provided here mostly just for harm reduction to prevent inexperienced mycologists from poisoning themselves, or can it be used without shame as a place to go to make general identifications. If it's solely for identifying psychedelic mushrooms, I'll try to avoid asking for ID of non-psychedelic mushrooms. I'd like to help out here and do what's right because I appreciate the service this website provides very much.
Is there another good site just like Shroomery for general identifications of mushrooms?

It is for the identification of all mushrooms, not just psychoactive, and you can post as many ID requests as you like. In fact the more you post the better because we like trying to identify things lol. So no you are in no way abusing the forum. You will notice when you make a post that there are subtitles like 'ID request', 'Edibles' etc. General discussion of mushroom hunting is just fine as well, as long as it is within the rules (so not asking for specific locations etc (this is usually when discussing actives)). There are other forums but i don't know of any that are anywhere near as good as this one. Both from the point of view of the level of expertise and the general attitude of the other users. That's not to say they don't exist but I've not needed to look beyond this forum to be honest. This forum is also really active. Excuse the pun lol.

I've posted dozens of ID requests and none of them have been suspected actives.

if the ID requests were all just actives or suspected actives that would be super boring, I love seeing everything out there and I'm sure 90% of the people here feel the same way. No reason to feel bad at all, keep posting ID requests!
