You pick and choose your battles There's things like margarine, fabric softener, tobacco, etc. that I could give fuck all about using. It's best to be informed to the best of your ability and then choose. But like - why the fuck would you care to use something so inane as fabric softener if you know its raising your chances to develop a terrible disease?

not even you can truely believe that our highly synthetic lifestyle stoday versus 2000 years ago is healthier though can you?
yeah we have all these technilogical advances that are cool, but there's a lot to be said about living in a more natural way.
our current lifestyle is unsustainable.

Yeah I definitely think that's a thing with autism - I'm not sure if the increased diagnosis accounts for all of the increased rate or not. Other diseases are rising as well - lung cancer dropping for obvious reasons - but many others picking up in its stead...
I mean shit - one of the elected vice presidents of the American Cancer Society injected hundreds of people without their knowledge, with cancer in the 50s and 60s and was supported by a lot of doctors in his time. When word did get out - his fucking punishment was 1 year suspended license
So like I say - even if its not rational or well thought out, I would say there is plenty good reason not to trust the word of the establishment.

And there are plenty of examples in the past of people being told things are 'safe' that turn out to kill them - so blind mistrust is imo smarter than blind trust
Actually, there are certainly some theories about why certain maladies are more common now. A recent Danish study of their own country's medical records indicated that autism appeared to rise so suddenly in incidence because in 1994, the definition of autism was broadened, including more behaviors and diagnoses on an autism spectrum that allowed it encompass up to 60% more cases than it had previously. Cancer diagnoses, equally on the rise, have become so commonplace partly because we're so much better at recognizing it now. In addition, many cancers are caused by age; the longer you live, the greater the likelihood that mistakes will occur as your cells regenerate, and we're living longer than ever before. (We cannot, however, discount the effect that things like diets high in red meat, a propensity for tanning, alcohol consumption, etc. do play a part in how quickly these genetic errors will arise.)

The thing is also, if it has aspartame, it likely also has a host of other strange colorings/perservatives/don't know what the fuck they are in it that are common to processed foods... So you better be down with all those chemicals as well, and a lot of them are so complex in their make up and metabolic action that I don't think anyone knows exactly what the fuck they're doing.
For example with food coloring...does anyone here give a fuck enough whether their drink is bright green or its natural color enough to want to have ethyl-[4-[[4-[ethyl-[(3-sulfophenyl)methyl]amino]phenyl]-(4-sulfophenyl)methylene]-1-cyclohexa-2,5-dienylidene]-[(3-sulfophenyl)methyl]ammonium added to it?

The list so far I believe:
1. The acidic diet shit
2. Anything Astrology related
3. Fluoride is bad... Ok so here this is kind of true, you CAN over-fluoridate your teeth. The thing is, Fluoridated water is completely unnecessary if you brush your teeth. The reason it is added to the water supply is simply because parents can't get their children to brush their teeth. That is all. In fact, the concentration of fluoride in tap water is reduced in summer months because they know that people drink more water when it's hot out.
4. Faith Healing
5. Homeopathic Medicine: Diluting a medicine is fucking retarded. Dose is everything, and lowering dose is stupid.
6. Vegan diet is healthy: Vegans lack tons of nutrients they need. We are an omnivorous species, avoiding meat

recently i was told that it was scientific fact that cheese was an acidic food and that eating a lot of acidic foods made your body acidic and that you are supposed to eat alkaline foods to be healthy. this was from a dude that tried to say science was a religion.
I'm pretty sure I've never spoken to you before :P
Far out man. I'm still trying to figure out how citric acid is alkalising when it gives me heartburn.
And you know, I get it, there's egotistical pricks who get in the way of the truth in both religion and science, because of pride, or other vested interests. That shit is annoying as fuck. But as long as people accept it goes on and stops trying to give everyone this false air of infallibility.
