I began to mellow out. A lot of things I would have been for or against when I was 21 I just don't give a shit about at 31. I am also better at everything I never stopped doing (Art, languages, music, human interaction) Getting better at things also changes your perspective because you can understand more about the world around you, which can lead to different attitudes. At 31 I am way more comfortable appearing a bit effeminate in terms of clothing than I was at 21.
Although my expectations from other people are lower, my expectations from myself are a bit higher. I just think ROUGHLY every 7 years you become a fraction of a new, different person. 11 is way dif than 17, 17 is way dif than 24 and 31 is pretty diff than 24.
The only time this isn't AS true is when you never leave your home town. I think people who never change their place they live or friends they have change waaaaaay slower than someone who is constantly learning, traveling and practicing.

I've noticed that men tend to get shyer as they age and women tend to get more outgoing. There are many exceptions, of course, but it's the general trend. Men start to get shy in their late teens to early 20s. Women start to get more outgoing when they have kids.

Sheekle said: Yeah, or maybe it was doing LSD a bunch of times throughout the past few years. Somewhere along the lines I kinda just "snapped out of it."
I used to be like really odd and have trouble fitting in and just generally stick out as an elephant in the room. I was "that weird kid" like the majority of the time in social situations nd shit. Just a couple years ago even. I think I was seriously on the verge of losing my mind for a while actually when I was around 18.
Now I seem to fit in really well socially, although I can be semi-awkward meeting people sometimes but that's about it. I freely share love and humor with people, I don't get anxious when I think people are criticizing me. I'm fun to be around.
Basically i'm a pretty normal guy for the most part these days besides being a party animal.
So, like,
Does anybody else here feel this way? That their personality or ways of thinking have drastically changed throughout time?

I have Asperger's.
When I was a kid it was pretty bad
But as I grew up I learned how to pick up on social cues and how to really function in society in general.
It hasn't gone away for me, it's more like I have some kind of mastery over it, although occasionally it will seemingly pop up out of nowhere.
I think weed has helped a lot with this, although these days it's very unhelpful.
LSD seems to totally knock those barriers down while I'm peaking.

I think everyone changes things about themselves as they age, it's part of getting older and growing up. As you get older you realize there are some things you should hold on to, and others you can do without, usually the things you can do without are childish in nature, or just not worth holding onto and making a permanent part of who you're going to be in your adult life.
It blows my mind how much change I have seen in myself from the year 2009 up until now. In 2009 I had a mushroom trip which changed my whole outlook on life, made me realize what I needed to do in order to grow up some more, drop some immature ways of thinking I had been holding onto.
I am in my early 30's now, I still have ways of thinking which I shall never change, and some I know I should change in order to continue to grow. I think we are forever growing, learning, maturing. This is wonderful I think, I hope I never get old and stuck in my ways.

I think a lot of psychiatric diagnosis' are a load of crap. All they do is put a label on why someone isn't the same as everyone else. Hell I'm weird. Weird but normal. I could have probably been diagnosed with aspergers when kid too. I've grown out of it for the most part.

Back in the day (hidden in psychological research) some smart team of people trued to use LSD to treat autism symptoms. Now, since the release of the new DSM IV (diagnostic & statistical manual) autism now includes aspergers under its spectrum. So, would one treat autism with LSD? Possibly. There are a lot of people who claim it has helped alleviate their symptoms. Movements in psychedelic studies are pushing towards testing such things on adults because the child population is too fragile. Have you looked into MDMA studies with autism adults? Have you done MDMA? Aspergers is treated with behavioral therapy and it is possible you have adapted to your environment and have learned through time was is "appropriate" for social behavior. That, or you stopped giving a shit. Autism is not something that goes away with time.
