    #2222924 - 01/06/04 01:28 PM (13 years, 9 months ago)

The reason I ask is when I went tomy local farm/ranch store they had straight dung from horses, cows all diff kinds including this

Quote:

Product Name: COMPOST, MUSHROOM, N. Guide
Size / Unit: 40# BG
Price: $4.95 BG
Item Number: NG284
Description: Totally organic, dark and rich, this mixture comes from mushroom growers and contains peat, gypsum, dolomite, cottonseed meal, poultry manure and straw. Has been sterilized and composted, making it weed free.

would this be spent, or would it stil be viable? It sounds like it already has everything in it I would need.

I've collected old cow crap from a paddock and the myc likes it. It would have to be 12+ months old, rain leached, sun bleached, dry as a nuns and baked in a drought. Many folks say the old stuff is best, the white colouring an indicator of actinomycetes. The good guys. Also seen in composts too.
