These Android TV boxes I've been hearing about.

I've been hearing of these things and am considering buying one if I can get some info on it (instead of rehooking up my cable TV for football season).
The claim is that you buy the little box and hook it up to your TV and you can get any show on any channel... I've heard it takes a day or two for the shows to be on there, but every show I'm interested in I've heard is there.
Idk if sports are live on it or not, though.
I guess I'm asking, does anybody here have one of these? If so, care to share some info about it? Does it need to be programmed? Have a remote? Actually work for more than a month? How exactly does it work?
Any info would be appreciated. This is a pic my buddy posted to FB of the one he purchased.

Thanks in advance

I dont have that one but have used the firestick. I assume they both have the Kodi software installed. But once youve got that installed it pretty much plays alot of stuff for free, depending on the addons you install.

So do you need to like buy subscriptions to shit?
The way it's been portrayed to me was you buy it, hook it up, and viola! Free TV.
Heard you can watch Better Call Saul, Game of Thrones, sports, porn, whatever... But made it sounds like that's it.. Just connect it and instant free TV..
So that's why I'm so confused
Sounds too good to be true.

once you install Kodi software, you can watch all that shit for free. You can then install add ons through kodi and get porn, live sports, ppv all that stuff too.

Some vendors sell preloaded/installed boxes with most of the addon for movies, shows, porn, live sports, ppv and others.

or you could just buy one with pre-installed software. When you buy direct its just a subscription based tv/movie box, which you have to pay for.

I have the android stick CX919 II. I do not have any free channels but I use a app called Cartoon HD
It comes with a app on it called Cloud TV (can't find it any where on the internet really) that streams live t.v. channels. I would not suggest using that app a bunch its not very reliable.
How ever Cartoon HD rocks!
It provides ease of convenience. The android stick just makes it so I can sit down and turn on the TV and boom im good to go!

I also use something called Flash Fox Pro which allows me to watch any Flash content in the web browser as if I was on a PC
If there is something on Cartoon HD that is down temporary I use a app called ShowBox. It's nice but it's not as good as Cartoon HD

I have got my friend hooked on Cartoon HD due to how fast it loads! Where he lives its hard to get LTE. When I go to his place I only get 3G and it still loads quick!
So if you use a android stick or box with WiFi its instant all the time!
It's nice to just sit down after a long day of work.. not turn on the pc.. not deal with commercials but to just binge on straight programming...
No loud noise from the pc.. no commercials and every things on demand, all on my big screen tv. It's even nicer than using google chromecast.
You can download these app's on the internet. Or alternatively you can install Aptoid from their website. Then install Cartoon HD threw that, firefox pro, and I think they have showbox on there.

Ill try to get video or pictures of cloud t.v. for you, you might like it! Ill edit this post and put the video or Pictures in here.
Here are some pictures of the app that comes on the stick -

Here is a Screen shot of playing HBO

The reason why I say this app in not the most reliable is because the streams come and go/ change. Some are in english, some are in other languages!
I have watched many HBO, Stars movies, National Geographic, Discovery HD, Cartoon network/adult swim in english. They even have a section where They have channels that just play one movie all day long.
So sometimes it rocks some times its annoying. If you want to subscribe there's a way to do that and then you do not have to concern about the channels coming and going.
I have not looked into subscribing since I like using Cartoon HD and Showbox more.
Since you can use flash fox pro you also have no need for much else. For example, you can find websites that stream TV channels live and watch them in flash fox pro.
like this website -
http://livetvcafe.net
It also comes with XMBC

So, a friend of a friend sells these things preloaded for $125
Should I go for it then? Is his programming worth that?

Correct me if im wrong, but Kodi software pretty much grabs streams that are available on the web already?
never understood how this was any different then hooking up a computer or laptop to your tv, then watching as many streams off the net as your heart desires.
But I guess its cool if you dont already own a computer?

It prevents you from overheating/using your laptop/pc and is a convenient small box/media center. It is the same thing though both just stream the media off the internet. Some people also like that it is just click and play rather than searching for the media

The android stick I have allows high resolution -

Also lets not for get they sell HDMI pc Sticks!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/MINI-PC-Beelink-Windows-8-1-Full-HD-Smallest-Desktop-Intel-Z3735F-32GB-USB-Stick-/201332884216?hash=item2ee06002f8
Always remember you can bring it to any ones house easily. Pretty nifty. If it has a windows OS that is not unlocked you can just torrent a crack for it, or unlock patch!
Also remember, you can install a Android emulator on PC. So you could install one on this stick. If the software every one is talking about works with android then maybe you could install it on the Android Emulator.
You can also install Cartoon HD and showbox on the android emulator.

It does just fine with live streams as long as you have a fast internet connection. There is a lot of media available and you just need to spend some time navigating the content to find what you want... once you know where it is you will find the experience better.
The steaming of movies and tv shows some times have the option for 720p and 1080p and the live streams are usually 720p.

HDMI is a input to your TV for high definition.
A Emulator lets you emulate something. You ever heard of a N64 emulator? People playing N64 games on their android phone or PC. A android emulator lets you use android on your pc, they are programs you can install, after installed you can open them up just like any other program and use android.
OS stands for operating system. A crack is something people use to get software for free. Most people who "torrent" software or download use cracks/keygens this allows the person to use the full version of the software for free with out paying. A Serial in the format of something like 666-666-66-6666 could be considered a crack. You just copy and post the numbers into the program to unlock it where you would normally put the serial you paid for.
Torrenting is P2P software. Have you ever heard of Limewire or Kazza? It's similar to that but a little different.

Check out http://www.tvaddons.ag/ they have made it very easy. If you already have kobi/xbmc or another runoff of that application you can just do the configure step.
BTW I have this on my android smartphone and it works quite well and steams quickly on Metropcs

Just so your aware, this isn't some hack to give you full access to nfl channels. You're reliant on someone else who has the channel to put a live stream for you, which can usually be found by searching stream sites on the web, kodi just accesses those streams.
You're not guaranteed every game, or any game. And sometimes the streams are choppy, getting taken down, etc.
Non live stuff like televisions shows won't ever be an issue though.
If you already own a computer I really don't see the reason to put the coin out to buy one unless it's something you see yourself moving around alot. Ive always just kept my computer hooked up to my big screen and streamed directly from it. Just think of this as buying another mini small computer just for the task of streaming.

I bought one an hour ago off a friend of a friend.. Holy shit. It's like Netflix on steroids. Watching Bassfreak's favorite movie now, Jurassic World.
The only thing I don't like is the NFL streams are pretty shitty and I like HD sports.
But all the shows I'd pay for cable for are all on there plus thousands of others... So it'll pay for itself in a month or two now that I don't need to get cable.. Still a lot of stuff to get used to, but I'm pretty happy with my purchase.

I have since been using the add on Navi X threw TVMC. It's pretty sweet for streaming live TV channels. I still prefer Cartoon HD for movies and t.v. series due to ease of convenience. If some thing is not on Cartoon HD or Showbox I know what else I can search to watch it on : TVMC.
Which add on's or apps have you been using for streaming?

I just added the TV4ME add on. It looks alright.

I guess I have just grown so accustomed to the Cartoon HD app. I have used a few other add on's however that let you use thumbnails. Some of them provide meta info.

I enjoy how Cartoon HD shows the imbd ratings and information about the show and whatnot. I did notice some of the apps in the TVMC do the same thing. I have not watched any shows on there yet so I can not speak for the reliability on how fast it loads. With cartoon hd things load so quick you can skip around right when you open up a show.
If you have not yet, check out the Navi X add on for you xbmc/tvmc app. Streaming TV has never been so easy.

I'm pretty new my self! I just installed tvmc yesterday.
However I would suggest installing cartoon HD. Waaaaay easier to use then any of those add on's if you want to watch movies or tv shows.
As of for streaming live t.v. Navi X is the best thing I have ever seen so far other than browsing the web looking for streams.
Since your news http://www.aptoide.com is a good website to get app's for free/ unlocked. You can install aptoid and find app's on there. You can also get Cartoon HD on there.
Lately I have been using Flash Fox pro to browse the internet. It allows you to view flash content while browsing on android you can get it on aptoide, so that's a suggestion if you want some improvements.

shLong check Phoenix and see if you have Staael2014>LiveTV> LIVE GAMES And click the different 'random games' for the game you want to watch those have always been 720p for me and at worst it buffers and have a few second delay but usually a smooth stream. The channels it streams for me are Fox Sports 1 and 2 and at times others if multiple games on.
There are LOTS of live streams available so check different places for best option for you. Phoenix>Phoenix TV probably has good steams as well I haven't tested that one yet.
