To me it honestly just sounds like a blower motor intermittently failing.

It's not the relay. Relays either work or don't work. And when they quit working they get stuck in one position. They don't allow for intermittent failure.

Since you're able to operate the fan speed, I don't thing it's going to be a blower motor resister. And since you're able to change modes (from face to feet to defrost) then its probably not your control head unit either.

This is not an A/C related issue, or compressor. If funds are available I would recommend a dealership, either Kia or Hyundai.

Never go to the dealership for a kia or a hyundai. i sware they make more off of fixin' em then they do sellin' em a fucking 10$ flex pipe on my girls hyndai popped and they wanted to replace the entire exhaust

Yea and when you take it to your local Raben or local mechanic shop don't bitch and complain when it isn't fixed. Obviously if a service adviser told you to replace your entire exhaust, and you knew that wasn't the case you should have asked why, and asked to see the car on the lift. At that time you could point out why a whole new exhaust wasn't necessary as it was only the flex pipe needing to be replaced. A lot of times when you have rusty ass exhaust its easier to replace more than one component rather than having to heat and cut bolts, and re-tap most of the exhaust system. Labor on that is sometimes more expensive than just replacement of part. Not usually with exhaust, I mean honestly I don't know why they would try to sell you an entire exhaust, I would have just called them out. People will allow dealerships to screw them over because they're stupid or just have no clue about cars. Most dealerships know their stuff, and most wont screw you over.

Absolutely not. ANY MECHANIC SHOP WILL FUCK YOU IF POSSIBLE!

I'm An ASE mechanic here for one thing and i was not about to pay 300$ for a 50$ fix i just replaced the flex and some of the piping before the cat, works like a charm, apparently this scam is so well known they sell a piece specifically to replace that flex pipe with out cutting your whole exhaust

As for calling them out i got real hostile real fast when they told me 3k for the job, i ended up fixing it my self like i said earlier for 50$ i just have shit to do and don't have time to be a blackfinger.

Funny how a man will stutter when you look him in the eye and say " i'd rather sell your children into slavery then pay your fucked up inflated prices. '

If you're an ASE tech you wouldn't have brought it to a dealership in the first place. There is no need to being hostile if you're at a higher intellectual understanding of what is at play (which being an ASE tech, you should have been). They're out to make money yes, aren't we all. That's why you don't let them fuck you.

you work for Pep Boys or something?

my father in law was an ASE master tech, his engine developed a knock in the
bottom end, he said it was a spun bearing, I told him to look a little harder
because it wasnt a bearing or a rod, $1200 later for a rebuilt engine he still
had the knock. turns out that when he replaced the fuel pump he installed the
wrong one and the pushrod was tapping against the pump lever because that lever
was just a little short... he had a similar issue with a dodge truck I'd given to
his wife so that she could get to work every day... but hey, I'm a shade tree
mechanic, what would I know

replacing the brake caliper on my mom's car, got one with a bleeder screw that
was fused in place, couldnt bleed the brakes so I drove it with the caliper still
on to, wait for it... Pep Boys, it's where I got the caliper, my mom explained
the issue and the service writer/assistant manager baring all his ASE patches on
his sleeve, in his 'outside voice' said "lady, this is why you shouldnt let shade
tree mechanics work on your car, they will screw everything up". 20 minutes
latter his tech walked into the office and said "the bleeder screw wont come
loose, it's fused in place, it needs a new caliper". that required them to send a
runner to a store about 30 miles away, that service writer stormed out for some
reason when my mom told him he should offer me an apology and it managed to get
me a few more jobs, who wants their car worked on by people with a long list of
certifications that had no clue what they fuck they were doing

I can relate many stories where an ASE tech was no better than a 6 year old when
it comes to working on a car, so yeah... bragging about being an ASE tech is like
bragging about taking a bronze metal in the special olympics

I got my ASE for hobby reasons, i would never work a mechanics job, not as a general mechanic. i took it to the damn dealership cause she was paying and i really did not feel like fixing a hyundai i hate them things, i like to work on american muscle or exotic euro cars. plus you get paid like shit if you work for an actual dealer, my buddy who works for fire stone just got his guaranteed 32hrs cut cause they moved his team (and apparently hours are not guaranteed for workers not on a team. not even his choice he went from 500/week to 200/week I run my own business and it has been a long time since i needed to work like that.

I'm more interested in pursuing my dream of building a legal dispensary/growery

As for pep boys, FUCK THEM!!!!!!! i rebuilt my buddys mazda mx3 with a miata motor he had, all set up just needed a couple vacuum switches, we wanted to go out and party thought we'd let pep boys handle it....they pulled the engine out of time, destroyed the electronics, fried 3 alternators and batteries and didn't even look at the god damn vacuum switches. lesson learned. you want something done right do it your damn self

I was never bragging, i'm wondering how stupid some mechanics are to charge me 3000 for a new exhaust system and new cat when all i need was a 10 inch piece of flex

Firestone is not a "dealership". That's a damn tire shop. Its the same as a Rabens or a Pep Boys. Depending on your dealership yes you can make a lot of money, my techs both clock about 60-80 hours a week depending on job flow. They're both paid $25 an hour. That's pretty fucking good money if you ask me. Granted they've both worked here for 20+ years and we have a steady flow of used cars constantly coming in, but yea. They make bank.

Any dealership you go to is gonna quote you that much for an entire exhaust system. Especially with a damn cat in it, cats are like 1,000 a piece. Think if you have a v6 or v8 with 2-3 cats in them. They're not stupid, its just that dealerships are gonna offer OEM parts, which are pricey.

And not trying to sound like a dick, but I'm pretty sure your hobby doesn't include tinkering with exotic euros. If that were they case it would be your profession, because that shit is absolute shit bank here in the US. Even being a detailer for exotics is bank.

If you say so. I guess i don't own my cars :/

Point is it needed a flex, not an exhaust or a cat.

Firestone, now, also cadillac, all the same shit kid
