A Few Wild Oysters
    #22225902 - 09/12/15 06:42 AM (8 years, 4 months ago)

A friend of mine found these while checking trail cams. He wanted to know if they were anything good. I said "Nope. Those things will kill you!" Just kidding. I told him what they were, and to keep checking that area. Looks like oyster season is here for me.

I'm in eastern Nebraska. You know, trail cams, those little box cameras, they set up beside game trails.  Then if a deer,  or whatever, walks by it takes a picture. I'm out camping right now, and found a few oysters of my own. Just about ready to go look for some more.

A few other mushrooms that I found today.

Turkey tail, I think.

I think this is chicken of the woods, the first I've ever found, but it was about 25 feet up a damn tree! Just my luck.

I call these "Elm Oysters". I know there is some kind of debate over what is an elm oyster. I don't care. THIS is what I call elm oysters.

And some wild oyster.

Tried climbing that darn tree. Got about 10 feet up, and realized I'm to damn old for this shit. Also found out there were no hand or foot holds after that!
