Is anybody else interested in this topic? I recently watched a documentary about awareness and the base line was that there is the you who has thoughts, then there is the you that is aware that you are thinking, listening to those thoughts. It was very interesting.

Not really interested in awareness honestly.

BC why would one open a thread about a topic that, by one's own admission is not of interest, just to post that fact? Seems odd.
In reality this is an interesting subject for some and such musings are good fodder for a trip or purely intellectual pursuit.
Is this not one of the differences posited between man and animal - the awareness of one's own awareness.
Good writings on the topic go back to Plato (and no doubt before). OP might enjoy reading some philosophy on the matter, or modern cognitive science, maybe Oliver Sacks (RIP) or a myriad of others.

Any subject that is out of the ordinary such as awareness interests me. I like pondering on ideas that make you think really deep and usually leave you with more questions than answers, but it is the discussion and debate i enjoy more so than finding answers (the journey is more important than the destination. Here is a link to the documentary I mentioned
I also recently read an article (that had little scientific evidence to back it up) that had the same theory as my original post but also explored the idea that psychadelics half put the thinking you to sleep, allowing the awareness you (the 'real' you) room to take the main stage, whilst DMT completely puts the thinking you to sleep and 'you' can experience pure awareness. They also compared these states of partial/complete awareness (dissolving of the ego) to similar states achieved by meditation.

But then again who really knows, 'we' could just be a bunch of chemical reactions directed by sensory input...

Read the book 'Awareness' by Osho. Great read.
-------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Until the 20th century, reality was everything humans could touch, smell, see, and hear. Since the initial publication of the charged electromagnetic spectrum, humans learned that what they can touch, smell, see, and hear... is less than one millionth of reality. --------------------------------
