The "FEELINGS" of posters
    #22223590 - 09/11/15 06:50 PM (8 years, 4 months ago)

Does it ever occur to any of you what you post might have a negative impact on how others feel.

Take me for instance, what if I cried myself to sleep every night because of all the mean crap that is said about me. Would you care? Why?

This is a serious topic and I just happen to be a prime example. Do you folks realize what you post actually impacts others and how they "feel"

So what you're saying is it's other people's fault for reacting to you being an asshole. That's great.

People need to stop worrying about what some random strangers say online and worry more about what is actually happening in their real-world life.

How am I an asshole. I am anything BUT an asshole. In fact I am one of the few actually trying to help people in this forum.

Playing melodic tunes in times of darkness

Dispensing wisdom about taking care of your body

Sharing the good news of Jesus

Giving advice and top shelf tips for not being a piece of crap.

And yet I am constantly b itched at to no end. Luckily I'm a strong individual and couldn't give 2 shits less with the hateful trash spewed at me. But some people actually are impacted by what one posts!

Do you guys realize how big of an impact here our posts have in real time? You realize that's a person on the other end of your computer right?

It occurs to me all the time which is why I'm not an asshole online or offline. I know the common e-refrain is "It's just the internet! It's just words!" as if words have never lead to revolutions, ended careers/livelihoods/marriages, or caused the great schism between Catholicism and Protestantism (I mean a thesis is nothing but words); which is to say that such an outlook is generally bandied about by try-hard edge-lords who attempt to posture their barely-concealed narcissism as some kind of badge-of-adulthood.

You may have meant this post in jest but if I found out I actually hurt your feelings on this forum I wouldn't feel too good about that at all and I would definitely apologize and try to communicate more effectively.

That said, if you see some members are just obnoxious for the sake of it, there's always the ignore function.

You don't care but you made a thread to tell us that some people might cry themselves to sleep over this shit. :callingbullshit: :haha:

If you don't think you're an asshole you're the worst kind, an asshole who thinks he's righteous. Furthermore you are so self absorbed that you can't look at the way your intentions negatively impact the result. You are a hypocrite for making this thread.

We all make a difference. Gotta be tough!

no fuck that.

you're an asshole for this thought pattern alone. YOU  don't get to decide when you're being an asshole. that's up to the people around you.
