Can I still use other halves?

For more transfers absolutely! Not for grain, no way. If i have a spored contam, I'd go for 2 clean transfers away from those plates to be sure.
Also looks like you don't flame enough length of your scalpel. Something's maybe dropping from the handle about a quarter inch past the end of the blade.

Oh yeah, just for transfer, not for grain ofcourse That might be the problem, I try to flame for longer period but maybe some part of it is missing. Other dishes are great tho.

Hi Everyone,
I need your expertise. I was hoping to have some Golden Teacher mycelium here. It seems to be bacterial free and the only thing that is growing is what I have transplanted on these plates.
Now, after I have seen a lot of plates here, I started to get worried, as none of my plates have the clear branching of the mycelia.
So, do you think that I have Golden Teacher Mycelium here or some other white mold contamination? The Fully colonized plate is about 20 days old, growing for 14 days at about 30C (86F) and the last 6 days at 26C (79F).

The Split plates are from an agar plate that looked very similar to the fully colonized one and are 6 days old at 26C (79F).

Now I am strongly inclined to use up the last 2-3ml of the MultiSpore vile that I still have and put it on some fresh agar plates.
What would you do? Where can I find a solid Spore Seringe to Agar TEK?
Thanks
