Other than spent subs this is my first contamination since I built my hood so I'm stoked! Not really but don't really GAF either. I took a chance on it after noticing the petri was cracked. Must've dropped it at some point and picked up a mold.
If any fungi stands a chance at whoopin it's ass it's oyster so I'm gonna let it ride for a while. This one just happens to be Spoppo. Fight like a warrior Pleurotus ostreatus!

Are these contaminated? I noticed my last Golden Halo doing this too. Looks super fuzzy like a thick puffy cloud. Bacteria or what?

I thought about it but I have another tub of RW pinning and a few quarts nearly ready to spawn.

I've got the same thing going on. I'd love to know what it is, and if the batch can be salvaged

Right on Brother!
It's been a long long while for me since I dabled, and 6 and 7 is really fluffy and Cotten like but then again it's mexicana a strain and atl 7 which I forget look different than cube mycelium.
These all came from old Syringes how many transfers you think I should make before they ar deffinaely clean?

Thanks!
Ya I want to get some isolates until I find some really aggressive high yeilders, but I also want to start using some of the clean mycelium before I get my isolates just for the sake of getting some stuff going.

Dont stress too much on an isolate clean up the agar drop it to grain grow and clone ... test those clones and choose your best culture you can push out some bad ass tubs with or without an isolate

Ya but will it be consistently pushing good tubs without it being an isolate?
I don't mind getting isolates cuz I'll do exeaclty what you said while I also isolate cultures, just to stay productive as I isolate.
Also what is you take on peroxide agar?
And do you have a recipe that works well?

I've never used it and dont know of anyone who has honestly I may have read it but there is no need we can do hot pours and sandwich dirty plates .. you can do antibacterial agar if its super bad ...
But yes a clone can be consistent without being and isolate ... I wish I had some of my pics... soon I will post some of my ms grows then clone I'm about 2 months from a harvest at most ... sometimes you can isolate a shitty ass culture and wanted weeks and weeks and tons of plates
Just give things great conditions and you will push out great tubs

I've used peroxide agar at less than 1% with decent results... like only a short squirt of 3% solution (or a couple drops of 6% solution) to 500ml... the mycelium is slow AF to start with IME, but ends up quite aggressive... wouldn't suggest unless there's known contaminants present, and likely won't work for living molds: only mold spores and living bacteria
