What kind of HEPA? If the HEPA isn't a flowhood type HEPA then the HEPA is just blowing contams all through out your work area.
Also, yea, like Mad said. You need to put those SFD's on the outside of the lids. Putting the filters on the underside of the lids like that is a vector because nutrient laden moisture gathers on the filtering material and wicks in contams.
This one and yea I'm gonna switch the sfds to the top of the lids. My only question is how do you go about washing the lids? Just wash em like you normally would and let the filter dry?

Soak them in a 1:10 bleach/water solution. Bleach kick ass at cleaning your lids and filter material. A bleach water soak is what I do each and every time a media vessel jar is emptied. If a jar is contaminated I throw the jar away and salvage the lid.

I'm a bit confused as to why you throw out the jars. I'm still new to this hobby, but I've successfully reused jars that were contaminated. Wouldn't the PC kill off any mold spores you may have missed after cleaning the jars?

Just a matter of personal preference is all. I have been doing this for so long that I have hundreds of quart jars on stock and it's nothing to me to buy a 12 pack of Ball jars for 10 bucks (I prefer the 70mm/small mouth jars) so instead of fucking with contaminated substrates I just opt to throw them away. I hate contamination anyway.

Bro... is this not the world record for biggest variety of contaminations in the same plate? Uggghhhh
Quick question the thin almost translucent area around the mushroom myc is.....?
I'd transfer that twice, might be ride-a-long bacteria.
Btw, that shit is gross.
I ain't transfering shit from that plate...nope nuh uh...it was just the clearest pic I had of the leading edge of the myc....

There was a thread once where someone had read about oats having anti bacterial compounds in it. I'll have to look.
