So I made a tub the other day, CV and 7 quarts done with blenderless LI from healthy agar plate. It's colonizing incredibly fast, but amidst the mycelium I've noticed a few tiny patches of growth that are brighter.
Am I being paranoid or is this not a good sign (middle right)

I didn't want to open the tub so sorry the picture isnt ideal

At first you would say holy trich, but it's been like this a week and hasn't gone green.
Small pins everywhere. also seems in the past substrates with manure puff up abit more.... I dunno. I also added worm castings and peat moss... just threw some stuff together for my final MS WBS jar. Pasteurized in the oven...
I dunno.

I learned the hard way what happens when you open up a dirty ms plate in front of a flow hood to take transfers.
The pic is 3.5 days after dirty transfers taken.
I love the hood I used it 2 times, but I guess I still need my sab, good thing I didn't toss it before I toss this plate.

That plate had visible trich before I opened to take transfers, blowing green dust all over. Then 3 days later the resulting picture visualized.
When you want to isolate clean growth the sab rules.

Nothing wrong with the hood just the hood user not knowing and learning the hard way... once again.

I may be wrong... But i think you need a platform or something to work on in front of that hood... Something to elevate your work up into the laminar flow, right? Wouldnt the drop down cause eddys?

I never use a platform but i hold each plate while im doing transfers but with his set up a thick plank would raise it up well
