I'm on my 3rd try of a simple BRF PF Tek at the moment. I'm plagued every time by damn green mold. From the start of today to the end of the day, I lost a total of 8 of 18 jars to green mold developing.

Used still air box, flame sterilization, gloves, alcohol & iso alcohol. 1/2 Pint Jars, boiled my water for the syringes, used single use syringes and hypodermic needles.....mother of god.

It's driving me crazy.

I pressure cooked the substrate jars for 1hr each..........what's the secret guys? I want just 1-2 mushrooms to generate more spore prints to keep the dream alive!

Long time Nexian (DMT-Nexus), looking to try my hand in the shroomery lounge.

Kudos

Im assuming you are making syringes from a print? Either you have a very dirty print or your sterile technique needs improvement. Are you scraping spores into a iso cleaned shot glass? What's your process of getting spores into the syringe?

Honestly if you have a pressure cooker then do agar to grain and fuck syringes to brf. Can see if your shits contamed, and a far bigger yield with less maintaince.

You think by selectively taking transfers we are inadvertently training the contamination myc to "hide" better? Like it is realizing that we are trying to rid the host of the parasite... Evolution happens man... Like its starting to learn to intertwine better, or mimic mushroom myc better?

Im high, but i feel like this would be a decent NOT high ramble as well.

Im not high and feel thats possible but is it plausible?? This is kinda like the making contam resistant but i think is more plausible... but i think the only way would be using the same plate for years taking bigger transfers that allows the parasite to adapt and mimic

Dude I remember hearing about a trich outbreak that nearly wiped out the agaricus industry in the eastern US a few years back. A lineage of trich that was super resistant to iso developed and went nuts for a while before they narrowed the vector.

So this is a jar I was thinking fo using as g2g to some new grain jars.

Not sure about those dark blue/green spots. They seem bluer and more like bruising in person, but who knows.
