1 out of 40 plates that I poured contaminated. I'm not too worried about it. If that shit gets into a grain jar I'll see it too. IMO as long as those contams don't get spawned to bulk or released into the air they're harmless.

Are you wrapping your plates? Because it looks in other photos like you just hold them shut with micropore. If that's the case, you should at least try cutting a 1" roll off of a roll of saran wrap (thanks for the idea, Bodhi). You should always wrap your petri dishes after transfer/inoculation.

Cheers danks
Yeah the first few plates I only used micro pore but they went bad so I started wrapping them tight in cling film now. Better success with that but I put about 10 petri's in the fridge not individually wrapped but tied up in the sleeve they came in. I think that could be the problem as the wrapped ones seem to fare better

Yeah. That's plenty wide. I use the 2" stuff and cut it down the middle.

I got the same damn mold (penicillium sp.?) after I shook a Reishi jar. RIP in peace.

Shroomsupply.com has a good deal on it, and so does cynmar if you order a bunch of petris to hit their minimum. The smaller the amount you get, the more you'll pay for foot. I bought a 250' roll well over a year ago and still have lots left.

Don't know for how much, but you should be able to find a 250 foot roll for under $30. £2.50 is what, like $4?

I fucking hate Mycogone. Saw a white blob on my PE tub, but knew it wasn't a blob. It then started getting a couple of brown spots, then later started that yellow perspiration bullshit. So I took it out of the room and stuck it in the window of another room.

Here's the culprit. Like, wtf dude?

That's a first flush. Not too shabby, 2qts in a mini. Still working on dialing in micropore tape.
