domestic violence is bad..

found this plate that fell behind my cabinets.... dried up and curled up. or something haha..

the yellow/brown bottom was really weird. it was like a hard film. the plate was poured super thin, so i guess thats why it dried so fast, and maybe why it was able to curl up like that.

do they only come when u use one kind of grain?
I got "grain moths" in bran before, but they never went to the rye.  but they traveled from bran to bran.

maybe put them in a sealed bucket?
i've read about the use of D.E. in food industry, many times its mixed in with bulk dry ingredients at a certain ratio to avoid bugs.  it has to be "food safe" DE, not for the pools. user "Agar" has a post about it regarding use in bulk food storage.

are they contained to one area or you will see them wherever u have grain?

Well, I only ever use oats nowadays but weevils pretty much eat anything that you can be fed to animals. I used to run a pet shop and they used to eat through corn, millet, bird mix, parrot mix, you name it. They even eat those pressed pellets that they feed to chickens and pigeons. Once they are established, they will eat anything.

I never really seen them anywhere but where I put my grains so I guess that's lucky. Would have been a disaster if they made it to the kitchen, although that's on the other side of the apartment. They only came out in those numbers because I disturbed the sack, I wouldn't have even noticed them if I wasn't expecting it. Haven't done any grains in a couple of weeks so I gave them a good inspection before I used them. Guess it's my fault for buying 3 sacks of oats so close to summertime.

They even made it inside my bran, I bought a 10L bag by mistake when I first started and once you mentioned it I was like "ohh shit". I will keep an eye out for DE, I've never seen it being sold locally but I've never looked either. Thanks for the suggestion, seems like solid info.
