I fed a family of 6 with him...and as you can see he didn't suffer at all. And no they couldn't afford steaks roasts and ribs from the supermarket...they normally kill their own but had no luck this season. I am against killing for fun..but all for killing to feed.

yea, when i was dragging him out of the woods, his skull had turned to moosh, and both his ears had been basically seperated from the head.
it was pretty gross, but cool too haha

he was using a muzzleloader, so some leeway is allowed.

Not really.. muzzle loaders are less precise than full on cartridges. Thats something little uneducated kids do.. heads move, chest cavities dont.. he could have just as likely blown its jaw off and had it run off.
Disrespectful man. Debate all you want, thats just shit someone who knows what time it is doesnt do. I'll leave it at that.. dudes the type of person who gives everyone a bad name.

actually it depends on the round being used...but i understand your confusion. And have you actually ever seen what a .50 caliber round traveling at 2,000fps does to the meat and gut bag? To shoot him in the chest cavity and expect a round that large to simply go in and out would be laughable. The simple physics make it almost impossible after hitting a rib it would bounce around, tearing his stomach open, possibly intestines, bladder, etc....ruining meat. So you can say it was an "Uneducated" shot, but I do believe Aiming for the neck, hitting the head and dropping him immediately without damaging any internal organs that contain waste is a plus.

Yeah I do know what a ball will do to flesh.. I personally know what most of your rounds will do, and how they'll react to flesh as well as weather conditions... balls are gnarlier.. but you'll noticed I used the word 'precision'.. a 7 mag, 45 70, 30 30, 280, 270. etc. etc. even a 22 shoots MUCH more precise.. to say a muzzle ball wont blow a hole the size of a bowling ball is ridiculous, but it wont be as precise in its placement.. I can guarantee you that..
Heads flinch.. they can be in a different spot by the time the bullet hits, than where it was when the shot was fired... center mass bro.. heart lungs..same as a bow The last deer I shot, I fired inbetween his shoulders, at a diagonal, and exited out of his left hand rib cage, his head swung forward and hit the dirt before his legs buckled..
He was dead before he fell... and there was NO chance of a wounded run off..heads move, chests dont.
Good luck smashing skulls of trophy bucks.. that tells me youve never cracked a buck worth wall hanging, I guess...
Its respect man, this shit doesnt need to be taught, it should be logical reasoning.. but I see people who fail to grasp it daily..
Like I said, dispute it all you want, but there's a class of hunter out there that doesnt take the risk of wounding an animal, so that they can 'hip shot' it and brag to their friends..

There's a crime scene report thats legit online somewhere, maybe later I'll link, or not, because its kinda foul, anyway the report is of a situation where a couple of people had a confrontation in a home, one of them had a Colt 1851 Navy(.36cal) revolver or replica of one... Massive damage, I've seen the effects of a fair assortment of modern and older projectiles have had on flesh and bone and I think whoever did the shooting would have had a very hard time doing more damage with any other handgun short of some .45+ cal round with a projectile featuring a very high meplat... I've put deer down with my Ruger Old Army with a .457 round ball once and with an 1860 Colt Army with a .454 round ball(actually shot twice), both deer had more damage from the round ball than a later deer I shot with a modern flat nose bullet from the Ruger Old Army.... If I didn't have a very good chance of having to shoot 150 yards give or take a couple, I'd load my muzzleloading rifle with round balls... Good job on the deer!

my brother-in-law shot one that way, right through the eyeball. Lucky shot, but he said he was aiming for it and wanted to keep the heart intact. I love venison heart. Anyone else?

I've never eaten the heart. You say it's worth holding onto huh? Any special way you prepare it?

it was 4 i think, not much more than a spike. I waited for a bigger buck, but he was the only thing that came in behind the does. Despite his small rack, he was a good size deer, and if i remember correctly he had very dark fur
