san pedro preparation complete almost
    #2219726 - 01/05/04 02:29 AM (20 years, 2 months ago)

Ok, we just prepared 2 feet of T.Panachoi, we skinned it very well. and put it in the juicer, it juiced out 750ml of greenness. We then got the plump left over and boiled that down 5 times draining the juice, that juice is now boiling down.
Now I'm unsure if I should boil down the juice that we juiced using the juicer??? would it be a better idea to do that? Does the mescaline/alkaloid cell content let itslef out when boiled? or would it make no difference to the potency and quality?

and also, is it alright that we are now letting the drained plump liquid boil down more? or would it degrade the mescaline conent?
because i think, at the moment we have to much liquid, probably over 2 litres all togethor, including the juicer juuice.
hope these questions make sense.

and also, we have the plump (that was boiled down 5 times) left over. Is it worth eating that also?? or is all good content gone?

Thanks alot
peacecece
sorry

Boiling it isn't going to affect the mescaline content. However K Trout says in his reference work "Sacred Cacti" (really reccomend getting this book if you're at all interested in cacti) that prolonged boiling to reduce the volume of the liquid can result in more nausea. 2 litres is a helluva lot of pedro to try and drink. I'd boil it down and take the chance.

Don't bother with the pulp - 2 good boils of that and all the good stuff will usually be gone.

cool, thanks for the info, I'll look out for that book too, sounds good.
We've finished with the preparation. The finaly product is leaviing us with about 750ml each. It's in the fridge now resting, waiting to be consumed tommorow morning hehe.
lol, today riding to my mates for preparation I saw a 6 metre high san pedro, and a bunch of 2 metre brunches going off it in somones front yard, sounds like we'll be cutting some off at night

Oh and also, we intend to eat ginger for nausea

Good luck man. I never had much luck with drinking it - taste wise it was too horrendous and the nausea was too heavy. Boiling it down to about 50-100ml and going rectally is the only way I can take cacti.

Hope you enjoy yourself.

You can find the trout book here - http://www.troutsnotes.com/ pretty much contains everything you could ever want to know about mescaline, peyote, pedro, torch, how to dose, how to extract mescaline etc.

First off you do not drink to liters of l juice. You boil it down to 8 to 12 ounces or so and filter it with a cheese cloth or old t-shirt. ANS YOU DRINK IT WITHOUT THE TASTE TOUCHING THE ROOF OF YOUR MOUTH.
THAT WAY THERE IS NO NAUSEA.
And you take a half an hour to drink it. I will soon be posting at nansnook a complete photo pictirial of the step by step proicess of preparing San Pedro Wester Style.

In Peru and Ecuador, the natives cook it for 24 hours or more in a big black cauldron. They call the drink Chimora.

It is easier to swallow a large gulp of the juice of San Pedro than to chew a button of fresh peyote which will make you retch and most likely vomit. AFter eating them three or four times you do not get sick at all.

The taste of the cactus is no diffferent than that of eating Germ or wheat grass natural drinks or even that of carrot juice.

Sorry it didn't work out Merk - that's often the way with san pedro. Very difficult to get a powerful dose of mescaline from cacti. Takes a lot of work and ingenuity.

The first Itime I cooked back in 1977 was no good either./ Later i found out I did it all wrong. many people have different methods for preparation but i have done it the same way for 25 years and I get off every time.

AS I noted in a week or two the method will be posted at http://www.nansnook.com

I know all willr eally appreciate the step by step photo pictorial for the preparation fun.

Have a shroomy day,

mj-

Merkaba, I didn't see you say that you used any type of acid to extract the mescaline out while cooking it.  you will get more mescaline out of a cati with lemon juice(citrus acid).  I hope you used to acid and you didn't type it out, becasue that would be a waste of cati.  hopefully you saved the pulp left over. you can try to re-extract it.

hey zerhero. sorry, I forgot to say, but I did use lemon. I used about 2 whole lemons infact for the 2 cuttings. hmmmm, but I only put the lemon in when I was extracting the pulp(boiling it) I didn't put any lemon in the juice that was juiced out (from the juicer machine). Could that be it ? i think it is, because we had like 2 seperate juices at the end, the extract plump, and plain juiced juice (which we didn't boil down):/
see I never knew that lemon actually extracted more mescaline out. In all the guides it never mentioned that fact, just "put 4 ounces of lemon" or whatever... hopefully this new "step by step" guide MJ mentioned will have everything I need.
Thanks alot zerohero.
p.s do you by any chance have a very good guide yourself, explaining everyhting?

edit: oh and also, I've read somehwere it is not a good idea to put too much lemon in as it ruins it?? is this correct? in what way does it ruin it?
edit2: what would be the best acid to use?

use method one!

I used method one with great results. or PC it 3 times for 20 mins a piece.

I use about 4 oz of lemon juice that you buy in a grocery store.

and type of lemon juice is good.

I have put 8 oz of lemon juice in there and it was a good brew! so don't worry to much. like I said 4 oz is a good amount.

I hope you have a better expereience out the next time.

peace

Yeah I used that site. but I think I did it wrong, by not boiling all my san pedro juice, I only boiled the pulp and juiced it :/, and didn't boil the san pedro juice that as juiced (by the Jucier)
I think that was my big mistake?
And what is PC, you mean Crock Pot (CP?)
Thanks alot anyway. I now know more
