At what point should I be worried?
    #22218365 - 09/10/15 07:27 PM (8 years, 4 months ago)

Small knots started appearing on my substrate about three days ago, but they have yet to become small pins.  Should I be worried?  I've bee misting every so often when the sub looks a bit dry, or the sides of the tub appear to be losing moisture.  Below is a pic that was taken a few minutes ago.  There a many small knots, but none have yet to turn into small pins.  Strain is Penis Envy.  Any advice?

That looks really good so far imo. Dont fret too much about the moisture on the sides of the tub. Even RR at one point said its normal for it to vanish.

Penis Envy isn't for the impatient.  I'm sure you were told they take longer when you chose them.

Yeah, I've grown them before, and I remember that there were certainly a little slow to take off, but that was a few years ago.  Is it still okay to mist the substrate surface if there are knots or pins present?

Yes.  Mist whenever it's dry.

My last PE took a good 2 weeks to pin.
Every day I would look at the hyphal knots
and think, "Ooh, tomorrow..."
Patience my friend
Patience and fae.
