Trays or mono tubs? That is the question.

First off, I've never done trays before but I have had quite a bit of success with mono tubs, but they take up a fair amount of space. I want to know whether or not its worth while to do trays over mono tubs. I know one big benefit is the space you can save with a multi tier structured tent which is what is appealing to my situation. would appreciate some pros and cons to doing a tent set up over a couple stacked tubs. thanks

I think the only question for you is if you're interested in shelling out the extra bucks for the martha set-up. The rest is semantics. I think if anything, monotubs take up less room though.

You can stack your monotubs if you wanted too.

yeah i pretty much have to stack them already. i guess it was appealing because it made it look more professional with the tent and appeared to have a higher holding capacity.

So I have a fully functional martha but some times if its just small batches it seems easier just to do a monotub, which is what I usually do now.
But when the Martha was up and running full tilt with me continuing to work on it everyday almost like a second job, it pumped out volume for sure. It took up far less space than it would have to have the same harvest from tubs. On top of that it was easy for me to keep four cycles going at once with the final fruit tray on the bottom and the newly introduced tray's on top. It actually got to a point where it was doing so well that the CO2 produced was pooling up in the bottom of the martha (I sealed the bottom off) and choking the trays on bottom. I had to build a special vent and fan with side mount to extract it and put it on a timer.
Honestly, I love my martha. The cool thing is I built a large custom ultrasonic humidifier with room for severel take-offs to an almost unlimited amount of martha's or tubs (if I wanted).
All on hourly timer to keep 99% humidity, FAE, and CO2 Extraction at the right levels. Large barrel so I can leave and go on vacation for like five days without having to fill it with water. The intake has vacuum cleaner hepa filters over them and are changed monthly (when working).
I also have spent way too much money and time on this, it is an absolute hobby and I love to build things.
Hope this helps.

A tent/martha/greenhouse is very nice because you only have one environment to adjust. With monos you have to make sure each climate is correct. That can also be a negative because if something goes wrong with the tent everything will be lost.
A tent is cool too because you can fruit trays, bags, jars, etc. It gives you more options.
Monotubs don't look as nice too
In terms of yield and BE its the same IMO

Even if you have shelves spaced as tall as monos and have trays from wall to wall the humidifier and trays of perlite on the bottom will take up extra space.
Mono tubs are the kings of space and much easier to move around.
