My Poor Pereskiopsis
    #22217390 - 09/10/15 03:33 PM (8 years, 4 months ago)

These were purchased as 14 cuttings back in May. I rooted and chopped them ending up with around 38 pereskiopsis.

I planted them in the buckets and put them outside where they have been now for about 10 weeks. They started to grow taller, getting taller than the edges of the buckets, then they stalled.

are they sitting in dry soil?

why dont you pull one out to check the roots?

they look a little bit reddish, maybe too much sunlight and if kept in partial shade perhaps the soil wont dry up so quick.

i have some outdoors right now and the high temps are really doing a number on them. their areoles also grow more closely together than my in door plants which are nice and plump with good shade of green and shiny leaves after watering, with partial sun throughout the day.

they were watered yesterday morning, and rained on yesterday evening and today. Yea really red and yellow..maybe I should move them into more shade.

Yeah, maybe more shade will do the trick. I have mine on the side of the house where they get full morning sun and then they are in the shade from about 11am till dark.

One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree.
'Which road do I take?' she asked.
'Where do you want to go?' was his response.
'I don't know', Alice answered.
'Then', said the cat, 'it doesn't matter.'

I really hope they start cooperating with you! I've been following your frustrations with them since you got them.
