i would love to get an ID on this nice all white fungi -Found growing out of bark dust n chip mix right where it meets the lawn. -Located in a pretty shady spot_ morning sun only - Has a nice mushroom smell sweet with hints of anise ish. I'd say - Bruising when I got home was a light tan/brown - White spore prints so far. I'm letting go all night for a more deeper drop. - Is it an edible?? or nay? edit:
I would never Ever consume a mushroom found in the wild without proper ID plus 3 others to back that up I don't even do the sample and spit test until I have enough info first

Side note.. can anyone refresh my mind.. There is a website where you can enter all this info ie. Color, size, shape, location, etc and all that and it will find the mushees your describing. Thank You

While I don't think it's a destroying angel at all, it reminds me too much of the Amanitas to think about taking a bite. I am a noob though. Curious to hear what it actually is, but I think more information might be needed i.e. spore print.

Compare to Leucoagaricus sp.
The base of the stipe lacks a volva, and the structure of the ring is wrong for Amanita, in my opinion.
OP: Of course, you should NOT consume. Wait for a TI to tell you what this is.

White prints as I await the morning.
Mountainplayer thanks for the Leucoagaricus sp. route it's looking like that's the path. Started looking into the sp. and Oh My! I'm thinking Leucoagaricus leucothites is a close resemblance at the moment as my research continues
so far I'm finding out its probably poisonous Edit: for FryersQuest I'm centering using basic html code [ ] [/] ! I noticed someone else had centered text n pictures so I gave it a try.. it workedI remembered that website too!!!! http://www.mycokey.com/newMycoKeySite/MycoKeyIdentQuick.html Mushroom observer is a very good site this ^ one is a different way. Give it a try
Also want to say Awesome pan. Cinctulus find!!!!!!
