Lol I’m excited pasty!
Btw this poo you guys, omg, omg this poo you guys this poo omg, lol it’s fantastic! Obviously I haven’t fruited anything on it yet but I cut some trays last night and the cultures are tearing through it and I can already tell the texture is perfect so if everything springs back to normal immediately then I’d say that’s pretty hard evidence that grass fed verse grain fed cattle/horses make a huge difference

I was debating the grass fed/grain fed poo with some people a couple months ago and was able to find some good grass fed horse shit and it is definitely better. The texture is almost like super fine straw and shreds up super nicely.

That makes sense cuz I remember being at a parade and these horses dropping loads that looked like 90% wet hay.
I bet you could soak straw in manure water and get some good results.

I will start with the good news. It’s probably all bad news but the messenger is running late. Here are some experimental jars of wild coast. 48 hours after li, I shook them a bit after injections. Which I gave about 3-4ml each and they could have taken more maybe? I’m doing this just for experience.

Today I also inoculated 3 more qt jars and 2 half pints. The qt jars was li and the little guys I was doing a2g. Had this culture that I was kinda excited to put it on grains. I did not get a before picture of it. Anyways, this shit went down.
However I did make a successful transfer of the culture that I’m MORE excited about. Please feel free to be the messenger and tell me if you see an issue.

I'm late to this conversation but I dry mine in front of a fan until dry, then I put them into a paper bag in the fridge until I'm ready for them or after they have been in the fridge 2-3 days, I'll put them still in the bag into a jar that has rice of flour in the bottom about 2-4 inches deep so they don't absorb any moisture.
Edit: I've never had any issues with potency loss using this drying method.

Crockpot pasteurized? Might have to explore this. I have one I can set on low, I should test the temps out.

I’d get an instant pot instead.
The “keep warm” setting is built in pasteurization basically, it holds right around 160 which makes sense cuz that would prob keep the warm food from going bad longer.

i didnt have good nor consistant results with a slow cooker. it could have just been the piece of shit i had but i without a doubt had issues with it. i strongly prefer the way i do it as i have absolutely zero issues what so ever when it comes to proper pasteurization. i know others use a slow cooker i just dont like it and that opinion is based on past experience.

I would just pick off any mature or aborted fruit if any and mist the hell out of the casing and back in fruiting. Maybe mist that perlite more often and make sure there getting good FAE. But I agree those fruits look good.
