I haven’t done bisp yet but I remember when we were wondering what the jambos were I found something saying cambo pins come up dark brown/green a lot too. Which is weird cuz mine were all bright orange.

 And outdoor

Thanks, yeah, that looks very much like what I've got.
Definitely starting to see the appeal of the jcm-style tub system if what I'm doing is too dry - I had to dial things back a bit because there was so much condensation I was starting to get mildew, and cleaning the inside of the martha is a real hassle. Will turn it up a bit for the next couple days and then move to the jcm FC when I get it built.
Lol Yeah the tents definitely take maintenance work that’s the price you pay to be able to run variety but if you are primarily running one strain at a time than the tub style is probably much more time effective in terms of maintenance

How do you run variety in a tent? Do you mean just hand misting the ones that need more water? That's what I've been trying to do, just haven't figured out the right balance I guess. (Cubes and edibles love it in there.)

No I mean the tents allow me to run multiple trays all which can have different varieties in them at the same time that’s why I originally switched from a tub design in the first place the tent is more work in terms of maintenance but it allows you to run several different species of pans at the same time

Yeah got it. Partly I'm leaning toward doing pans in a tub because the conditions they need are way too wet for most anything else I want to grow.

Dude jcm that one in the corner laid down is so big it looks like a cube.
You should clone it and try to breed supersize jambos.
If you think you’re gonna do pans somewhat seriously I’d probably go with the bigger option for fc. I’m either making another tub/fogger set up or building a tent soon cuz just like with cubes I planned on dabbling and ended up all in with a ton of prints I want to grow and it’ll take all year with one fc.

You saying you thinking about doing your pans in a tub because they like it so wet and that will become a problem in the tent for other species/varieties?
If so.. thats not my case. I grow pans and gourmets in the same tent all the time. No problem what so ever. Keep RH around 90-95% and hand water the pan trays with a syringe. Works great

What does "frying" mean? Is it literal frying from heat or "frying" as in disturbed moisture content?

jcm, these were just ugly af. Tossed the whole thing in the compost.
I think I did the grow bc of nostalgia for the times when Hawaii, Jams and Aussies were the top 3. There's just too many better varieties/genetics to fuck around with this old stuff.

the fruits were nice and wet and perfectly glistening with moisture and i forgot to put the lid back on my fc and went to work n cane home 14 hrs later to fried out first flush and mist if the pinset for the 2nd. pans are senseitive like that if they go from wet to too much air and dry out real fast like that it literally frys them n kills them. its more so just a figure of speach but its a good one

That's exactly what I've been trying to do but without much luck at all. I think a lot of that is due to trying to get everything dialed in properly and not quite getting that right, at the same time I'm also trying to nail down genetics, substrates, casings, and everything else. I'm sure with enough patience I could make it work, but for now my thinking is that I want to simplify the fruiting conditions part so that if it doesn't work I know that's not the problem. Then once I've got my genetics and recipes dialed in, maybe I'll try to get the greenhouse dialed in properly at that point?
(Basically, I figure it's like why shoeboxes are so great for new cube growers - it's basically impossible to fuck up the FC part of the grow that way, so if it doesn't work, you have a smaller set of things that could've gone wrong.)
