I strongly recommend using prints rather than syringes for pans.

Also, just want to check before I spend the time and money on it - this kind of manure should be fine, right?
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B087V1Z23M/
(I live in a big city so getting any kind of manure is a challenge, and all that I've found at local garden centers is black kow, which is basically just mud except for the parts that are rocks and bits of plastic.)

There we have it, first flush from my first successful pan grow! 8 prints made, 43.45g fresh. In the dehydrater now. I had a number of false starts but eventually managed to get some mature pan cyans!
The grow was pan cyan texas spore print from nosf3r4tu -> agar -> LC broth LME 0.4% -> PC'd chopped straw and horse manure pellets.
Colonisation took forever because I stuffed way too much into the jars.
I then spread the colonised contents out into the little plastic bowls and left to recover for an unknown amount of time.
Then cased with peatmoss/verm/gypsum, made to McMerdin's recipie.
The cased pots were put into an FC built based on jcm's tek. It's got an aquarium heater and four bubble stones, as well as PC fan. That was run for 15 mins every two hours untill the pins came, then it was turned off. The pump ran 24/7.
Very excited to try these.

I've poured some water over them all and will let them sit for a couple of hours before draining and waiting for the second flush.
I've got some other stuff that will be ready to go into the FC soon so these pots my get tossed.
A big thank you to all everyone in this thread. The posts here and the write ups by users who post here made this possible.
A special mention to David Barlow who's video was a big inspiration. I'm not sure what it is about that man but he gives off an intense vibe.

If you get stuck on the manure thing, there have been a couple of cool manure-less grows posted in here. Otherwise the above grow used manure pellets bought off amazon, which is an option. They are a PIA to prep but seem to work. Someone else posted a successful grow that used manure pellets not too long ago as well.
I used these things:

Thank you! It's made PCing all the horse poo and crushing manure pellets with a stone like a cave man worth it.

hahaha I did this! I got home with bags full of mixed up fresh and field aged manure. Laid it all out on a tarp to sort through, picking out the stuff that was ready and leaving the fresh stuff for my friend's garden. They thought I had finally lost my mind

Woah I was getting confused, and thought you were talking about the guy who posted a manure-less grow like last week.
Yeah I heard about David's death. Yeah he's growing in an old school sort of way. But I always get a kick out of people who you wouldn't immediately associate with drugs growing bombastic mushrooms. Plus he gives off mad ACAB vibes, which makes sense seeing as the police hassled him a fair bit!

Yeah they loved it! It was fun watching the concern leaving their faces as they realised all I wanted to do was cart away their manure!

I used these things:

Are those horse manure? The only manure pellets I can seem to find on Amazon are chicken or rabbit manure, which I'm pretty certain isn't what we want. There are a few people who sell hpoo on there, and I've tried that, but it's literally just some random guys who stuff dried manure from their yard into a garbage bag and then into a box - quality control is a bit lacking, especially for the cost. Will try that again if I have to, but was hoping that cow manure would work well too.

Yeah so I grabbed the photo off the amazon add, but the actual packaging is different, and says horse manure on it. But you're it's a little tricky to find just hpoo pellets and there is way more chicken manure available in this form.
Don't know where you are based but that may have an impact on how easy it is to get it. Most the hpoo pellets I can get seem to be german.

I cant used filter bags , can I instead let grain colonize and then lay the pasteurized substrate in trays and spread the grain on it and let it recover there? any Danger of contamination doing it this way?
