Thanks for the information, Ive been lately considering setting up a greenhouse- I like the idea of it specifically for Pans. When people have so much trouble with Pans and other exotics its nice to be able to more stringently control and modulate the environmental conditions. Im mostly just using an SGFC.
I've been tinkering with cow poo- collected from cow pies and horse poo but I'm not satisfied with the results yet. I'm gonna try some composted cow poo from the big box store- but not too excited to use it. Do you have the brand name of the manure compost you are using? There's a lot of hydroponic stores and grow stores where I am.

believe it or not, I tried a Pan bisp straw log 2 years ago, but it got pin mold mid way thru spawn run. it was the first time I tried growing them, and looking back, it was a stupid thing to do
but other than that, no, i've always used manure in the mix.

I swiped a pan cyan print yesterday. It may have been from you or grey.
"Pan cyan SW Florida 6/9/2012" was the label.

I had some h-poo in a bag for about a year, cracker dry under the house, some nuggets (not many though) had hordes of mites inside. I wouldn't bring h-poo indoors for that reason. Mites are the worst, they go nuts for grains, and they are all but impossible to get rid of.

that sucks. I guess I'm lucky. I don't grow many actives, so I don't store a lot, but a single burlap bag with slightly moist poo (after leaching/in the sun) in my basement has always been fine. I don't have a finished basement or anything so I don't mind storing it down there, but I never got flies or gnats or bugs.
sometimes, if the pile is thick and outside leaching, flies will lay eggs in it, especially if its in the shade. they don't like the sun, and the eggs and larva need to be moist, so the thicker the pile, the more available space for flies.

I got some nugs from a field in super hot august of last year. Put it in a box and put it in a barn. Was rancid and ruined my Pan cinctulus grow. Going to try and shred it this time, then tarp it, then idk what. Maybe try to use some desiccant not sure.
Well that pan bisp straw log would have been amazing if it worked out so
Print wasn't from me. I also just swiped pan cyan a week ago. Pan cyan Hawaii. Also pan cambo. Cambo just rips through agar its amazing.

Did some searching around. Looks like it can be done just fine. If I can dial in my conditions and get close to those yields I would be quite content. I may still try and save some hpoo, especially for comparisons, but now I at least have a backup.
Thought these links would be helpful, if they haven't already been posted here.

I'm doing something wrong maybe it was the moisture content. On my oats because all my pan jars went bactiral, or molded after spawninf to cvg poo mix. Going to do some bark land an sandose after work tho.
Any real advice for getting this shit right. Been working with pans for months.

I've got plenty of mites but they always go for moist environments. If you dry your poo well, they shouldn't like it in there. Mine will go for agar plates, LCs, water bottles and basically everything else that traps moisture. I stored this big bag of semi dry perlite in a plastic bag last summer after I attempted half a grow using cakes and it was just infested with them. Like, thousands upon millions of little trails in the condensation.
The worst is the agar plates though, they get in because it's nice and moist and since they are just covered in bacteria and mold spores they always end up growing themselves a meal. Once a spot of mold shows up it's like one of them rings the dinner bell and hundreds of them show up out of nowhere.
Mites are ruthless.

I got aborts when I misted some of them; did it on purpose just to see if they would abort. It seemed the smaller shrooms were more susceptible to abort from dampness.
I don't know if dampness is the cause for your aborts but if so they may need more air exchange?
BTW- nice yield!

I didn't mist manually this time. humidifier moistened casing really well. maybe it make sense that one cpu fan can't evoporate enough water and some shrooms sinked.

Pans, being smaller than cubes have a higher surface area to their volume.
Conjecture- It might make sense that they are more sensitive to environmental conditions because of that- maybe they have a smaller sweet spot between too wet and too dry. IDK- its just a guess.
Looks like you'll have a nice harvest anyway.
