IMO it's really hard to tell anything from that image, it's a bit blurry

Thanks for weighing in, jcm4620. When you came across sporeless pans, did you figure it was growing conditions, or genetics, or was it even possible to tell?

That was the clearest one. It’s actually a great photo on a brand new phone. The lid is full of condensation. This two spots might be good might be crap. But I learned a few things along the way. That was worth two plates. I learned that a flow hood will be coming soon. That SAB sucks.

Laid my first trays today! one from a colonized substrate bag, two from grain spawn + pasteurized sub @ 1:4 ratio. Got to say, avoiding the stink of pasteurized sub is a pretty good reason for going to one of the all-in-one routes.
How long should I expect to wait for the spawn+sub trays to colonize?

id say just random genetics as ive had sporeless fruits right next to fruits with spores even. its a fairly common thing at times with pans in my experience to get them. i know mang others have had that also. all u can really do is try again with a different culture and id count conditions out right away as u have nuce healthg lookin fruits so the conditions are just fine

Lol, I'm not trying to be rude, but if the image's main objective is to provide clear information on myc growth then it's not a good image imo. You can set a cup of warm/hot water on top of a plate that has bad condensation. It clears it up, worked wonders for when you need to take a photograph.
I love my SAB. It's such a wonderfuly simple yet effective piece of kit. I'm sure flowhoods are great but I don't think I'll ever mushcult at the rate needed to justify investing in one.
On the subject of investing, I think I'm going to have to spend a little money and build a tub FC for my pans. My current set up is struggling to keep the temps high enough.

Thanks for your input. I got that straightened out now. That plate was poured way too hot and many other first time mistakes. Including no hot water on top while they cool. I will post better pics.

That plates got a lot of germination must’ve been fresh prints. I usually let the myc grow out a little so I can see what it looks like.
So far it seems like these tropicalis dry out between Cambos and cyan. 40g fresh ended up as 3g dry.

Thanks, jcm. Good info there. I think I'll hold on to this culture and play around with it. Kind of diggin' the phenotype. Maybe try swabbing the gills to agar, see what happens. God knows I need more projects . . .

Guys... Quick question: how long you think fruits can be sitting in the fridge before getting them dehydrated? I'm trying to harvest the crops from all the different tubs to run the dehydrator the least possible

The most I've done is about a day. I'd just start running the dehydrator. They don't take nearly as long as cubes so you won't have the thing on 24/7.

All right Asura, thanks for the answer!
One more here now that it just came to my mind. This is a very subjective one: what would be the equivalent of 1 gram of Pans. Cyanescens to the average cubensis for you guys? Last week I tried my very first time with 0.5 grams just to be safe and definitely found the trip to be VERY different. It was really pleasing indeed, because it was really light on the body. That was the huge difference I noticed, there wasn't body anxiety, I loved it. And the visuals were unique, like I've never experimented before. I might be trying 1 gram next time
Thank you all the community (specially you Asura, Jake, JCM, Aka, Celestialexplorer..) for helping all the time, making all these teks and constantly gather new information to let new people come to this wonderful specie.

Comparing the last cubes ive grown with the pan trops i got now...lol The former turned out rather weak and the trops super strong...so in my case i would say the trops were 10x stronger. The highest i went with these cubes was 7g (dry), and all i got was a medium level 2-3 trip. But the things ive seen on 1.1g pan trops are just incomparable! Furthermore i had no nausea-issues with them, which is a big plus. I also think that people are too focused on the psylocybin/psilocin content when comparing. That alone cant explain the differing trip-properties imho. There has to be something else... This mystery makes pans even more attractive for me though.
tl;dr Fuck cubes!

Yeah I’d say pans are at least 3x average cubes.
I agree the visuals from pans are something else.

its a very very safe assumption to say 1.0 dried gram of pans is equall to or at times even greater than 3.5 dried grams of cubes. i always tell ppl that 1.0 of pans will be no less than 3.5 and no greater than 5.0 of cubes and that always seems to be well within the ballpark when comparing the two. but the pan trip is way way better than the cube trip tho and i havent met 1 person yet that didnt agree with that statement as bold of a one as that it is. there is just something about pans once you go down that road its hard to want to go back to cubes. i know i havent eaten any since i tried pans and have no interest in doing so ever again.

I tried pans knowingly for the first time this past summer. Best trip ever. Also why I still have cubes that I can’t even stand to look at, and why I have no use for or desire to cultivate them. They are way too hard on my body.
