it doesnt have to be whispy at all, it can look real thick and if it was cubensis you'd maybe say it looks bacterial but for pans that's still fine. But also whispy like you say, to the point you think you have pure mold the first times. But what I look out for is fuzzy cultures growing up from the agar, it could just be your culture reacting to a rich plate but IME its usually a sign something's meshed in with your myc.

These WBS jars were inoculated with an agar wedge a few weeks ago.

They were then spawned to coir/verm/gypsum about 5 days ago and the surface looks to be very healthy and fully colonized.

I will be applying a light "jiffy" mix casing to the surface and fruiting immediately in my hybrid SGFC/monotub.

Looks like I finally have a legitimate chance of successfully growing these if all goes well

I looked for a long time. I found a few people with it, but no one could get it to germ. I'd love to grow it, absolutely beautiful indeed.

can you post what the sides of those trays look like? I have several clear trays working, and the tops look like similar, but from side view, they are looking uncolonized.

can't made it know. it's ok that sides looks different, sides often become thicker at later stage, but you should see transparent myc there and on the bottom for sure.

Pans still fruit on coir but they do better on poo. Or so they say, at least. I haven't been able to get my spawn to colonize and I have way to many cube plates atm to grow anything else.

I'm about to grow some copelandia and was wondering if I could use a ring and straw 50 50 as the bulk substrate I would also like to know if there's any important info regarding growing them I've grown cubensis before and was going to do it like that any differences in growing temperature wise or any other?

They are a bit different than cubes, you shouldn't mist the pins directly or they will abort and they need more FAE than cubes. Temperature is not that important as long as it's warm enough not to hinder growth.
Rye is great but I don't understand what you intend to use as a bulk. Ring and straw? What's ring?
Also, use the edit function to add stuff to your post, double posting is frowned upon over here.

For the love of god, use the damn edit button to add stuff to your posts. I already said this when you double posted and now you just did a triple post literally begging for help when you already got it.
To make a new thread go back to the mushroom cultivation forum and press on "post" on the right side of the page. I hope you don't go double or triple posting in your new thread this time. This shit is getting annoying.
50/50 straw/poo is a good substrate to use, just take care to pasteurize it well.
